Radisson is not a chain I use frequently but on this occasion I fitted in with the plans of colleagues . The hotel is ideally situated across the road from the Sandton Gautrain station . The room I had was very spacious and comfortable . The bar area was pleasant and breakfast in the morning was very good . I would be happy to stay there again .

i was impressed by tight security at the hotel. when using lift you need to slot in your room key card for acceptance. in my view that was superb. this other i forgot bang my room door, i wondered to receive a call to ask me to properly close my door.oh i was honored. all in all i was 100% satisfied with the hotel.it was like my home away from my home!

This hotel has a lot of potential but is really just ok. If you are staying in Sandton do yourself a favor and book at The Maslow - much nicer and without much of the hassle that plagued my stay at the Radisson Blu Gautrain. Some issues:
1) Booked two rooms for my group, one of which was to have two beds and but we got two beds pushed together (common practice here I know) and the front desk would not switch the room
2) When checking in for both rooms I was informed that breakfast was included for the occupants of both rooms, but upon checkout we were informed that it was only included for one. When we emphasized that we were told upon check-in that breakfast was included we were essentially told that we were out of luck.
3) Key cards were constantly being deactivated. This happened once when i was at the gym on the top floor and i could not get back to my floor. I then walked in the stairwell only to find that all other floors (including the lobby) were locked and I had to exit to the outside and re-enter the hotel in my gym clothes. The staff did not seem to care that this happened.
4) Parking situation is confusing - you have to enter separately and is generally just a pain.
5) The staff at breakfast are constantly bothering you to sign for your meal, are confused about what's included and what's not, and generally are not hospitable and in fact are disruptive.

With all the hotels in the area I recommend trying another one and saving yourself the hassle (and possibly getting stuck in the stairwell) of staying here.

I stayed in this hotel from 6 - 10 July 2014 and it is ideal for business travellers to Sandton and the wider Johannesburg area. It is located right next to the Gautrain Station which gets you to OR Tambo International Airport in 15 minutes at approximately USD 15 whereas taxis could cost you about USD 40 for a 45 minute ride. Quite convenient indeed. My office was also a 3 minute walk from this hotel which added to my convenience.

There was a slight mix-up on the reservation details upon our arrival but the team at the reeption desk was able to resolve this to our satisfaction. We stayed in the business class suites which were on the smaller side in comparison to other hotels that i have stayed in the past. The rooms were however tastefully designed and decorated with the usual accesories such as wide range of movie channels on TV, coffee maker, safe, fully stocked fridge etc. The bathrooms are of decent size with a rainforest shower and a nice hot-tub for soaking yourself after a hard days work.

The hotel breakfasts were filling and of a wide variety and i also remember the nice steak sandwiches - i recommend them to all potential visitors to this hotel. The hotel is also 3 minutes walk to Sandton City for your shopping needs and Nelson Mandela Square where you can have your evening meals.

The check-in and check-out process is fairly efficient and fast. The hotel also has an outdoor area with a nice pool and a lounge area. Unfortunately, i never ventured out due to the extreme cold during my visit with temperatures reaching below zero in some mornings and evenings.

One thing that we noted that needed better management by the hotel is that they need to notify guests that all items that you consume in the room are charged to you including the bedside chocolates which may seem complimentary but will find themselves on your final bill upon check-out.

Otherwise, this is a nice hotel and will definitely be back and would also recommend to other visitors to Sandton!!

Room Tip: Get rooms on higher floors to avoid street level noise.

Good customer service. Complimentary Internet and Fitness center - good experience. Best suited for business purposes due to location - surrounded by buildings - no green grass compound. Nice Breakfast. Nice rooms.

Great hotel right by the guatrain, so easy for getting to and from airport as well as office in sandton. Staff are friendly and remember me from previous occasions. Rooms are simple, clean and allow for good night's rest. Room service food was simple and tasty.

The location of this hotel across from the Sandton Gautrain station and a short walk away from Sandton City shoppin centre makes it an ideal location for both business and leisure travel. The friendliness of all staff from check in to porters to cleaners makes one look forward to go back for another visit relatively soon. Overall very good service with a free upgrade without even requesting one and this is something which we all look forward to
