2 of 5 stars Reviewed March 6, 2014

Food is average at best staff poor cant handle busy times. We t for lunch and was overall not worth. You can see they dont need the customers. Also a tip dont go there if you have a pram as they have gravel all over the place and makes is difficult to steer.

“atmosphere!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 15, 2014

We love going to visit Irene Farm. I buy milk regularly from the farm stall.
The restaurant does an excellent buffet breakfast on the weekends, great value for money (R80 -R 90 per person), it sounds expensive but you have so much to choose from and everyone goes back for seconds, the atmosphere is what makes it. Do try and book, often times it can be pretty busy.
It is brilliant for kids! There are certain times when the cows are lead to be milked that you could get a wiff of cow poop, I think that is around 3ish. The restaurant is at Irene farm which is a working dairy farm. There are mist sprayers going for those hot days and fantastic play areas for young children. As long as you don't mind a sneaky chicken coming to check under your table for a crumb or two - it is lovely.
After your meal go for a stroll. If you have kids the path was are paved with bricks and they can bring along their bicycles or plastic scooters. Very family orientated. A small piece of tranquility in the city. - you can even pet the cows or watch them getting milked.

“A nice farm, good simple food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 12, 2014

I use to go quite often in this dairy farm, just for a coffe, breakfast or a light meal, the athmosphere is relaxing and the food is fresh and simple, maybe the only problem is that there are too many flies around, of course cause the cows

“Always a pleasure...”

Old school setting, nice break from the rat-race. Good food, although I'll like to see more vegetarian options. Staff kind and helpful. Hope this cafe can remain in good management. Worth a visit.

“On the farm?...No...or are you?”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 25, 2013

This is a restaurant with a difference. It is on a active Dairy Farm, with cows walking past you, to be milked. The food is soooo nice and it really will give you the taste of true South African 'Boere' food. Well worth a visit!
