It was a spur of the moment decision to go to Woodlands for supper and it turned out to be a poor decision. The food was just not good. The starter of mussels were lost in a "garlic sauce" that had a skin floating on top. The mussels were so small and the amount of this rather ordinary garlic sauce just killed the dish. The kabeljou fish fillets were so thin that it was probably impossible to cook them without overcooking them. The chef made sure by burning the skin drying out the flesh. At R140 the quality and quantity of fish was just not worth it. Maybe chef thought that piling heaps of vegetables on the plate made the dish good value for money.
I'm afraid that this will be our last visit to this restaurant. We had been twice before with the first visit being quite good, the second visit not so good and now this very disappointing finale.
