“Adorable cubs you can play with!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 25, 2012

We visited this place on the recommendation of our hotel and was definitely pleasantly surprised! We wanted to pet the 10 month old tigers and lion cubs (in the same enclosure) together and when we got there we found they had just gotten 3 adorable 10 WEEK old white lion cubs (and we had been searching for white lions our whole trip!),
We loved them so much we paid to go in twice (only $5 each time). They also definitely give you more than the advertised 5 minutes, we probably stayed in there 15 minutes each time, and there was an extremely helpful volunteer who took hundreds (yes hundreds - he shot continuously) of pictures of us.

“The real bush so close to Johannesburg”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 16, 2012

Well worth a day visit from Johannesburg. A chance to see Rhino and some of the rarer species of buck up close. Pity the flora is not suitable for Elephant and Giraffe. Venture into the seperate but very large predator areas and you are almost guaranteed to see them up close. Got some great Lion and Wild Dog pictures on our most recent trip. The restaurant has improved dramatically.

“Somewhat disappointed, think before you go”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 14, 2012

We had been urged to go to this park by everyone so we expected something really nice. It didn't live up to the billing. It is a private game reserve, with fenced off enclosures through which you can drive and see the animals. We saw a pride of lions up close and a wild dog and a rhino. One of the chief attractions seems to be the animal creche where you can pet lion cubs. But the sorry-looking enclosure was depressing. Plus the apathetic and beaten down cubs didn't seem very happy. If you can't go anywhere else for safari, I suppose this is an alternative, but would recommend Pilanesberg much more.

“Good safari tour for self-drive”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 8, 2012

The animals are within sights, if you're lucky you have rhinos and cheetah coming close to you car. Zebras, deers, suricate, wild dogs, antelope, ostrich are roaming around freely.. Lions are in confined area where you can drive in, but stay in car.

Feeding times are great to watch the wild animals chew on their food.

“WORTH IT FOR THE WHITE LIONS!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

We absolutelyyy loved this place! My friend and I only had one morning to tour JB and instead we decided to spend it going to the Lion and Rhino Park. We went with Chris Green, whom we highly recommended. We actually travelled to Timbavati to see white lions but as you may know its very difficult to see them and we did not see them there. So we went onto to JB to see them at this place. We got to see five white lion cubs, three 12 week old cubs, a 6 month old and 10 month old. We also saw two tigers at the same enclosure. You only pay 30 rand per person per enclosure to get one on one time with the baby cubs! We really enjoyed taking pictures and playing with them. I recommend you take long pants and closed toe shoes. The lions are so cute and friendly but have sharp nails so wear long sleeves for optimal experience!
