“Great value and very friendly”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 24, 2011

We arrived at Johannesburg airport and were met by a friendly driver who delivered our bags to our door. The Sunrock is about 10mins from the airport, and offers transfers for free when booking. The room, although small, had 2 very comfortable beds and plenty of hot water for a shower or bath. We were able to have a homemade dinner and drink for 90 Rand (just over $10US). Hot or cold breakfast is also included and was delicious. The Sunrock is quiet, and all staff were friendly, helpful and welcoming. They arranged a tour, stored our luggage for the day and transferred us to the airport again when we wanted to go. Five-star service.

My wife and I stayed here for 1 night en-route to Tanzania. They collected us from the airport, fed us a delicious steak, fed us a large and tasty breakfast and dropped us off at the airport again .......... all very efficiently and professionally with a large dose of personal care. Thank you Ina and Arthur for a stress-free stop-over.

Ina and Arthur were friendly and more than helpful (Arthur getting up at 5 am to drive me to my safari meeting point). The gathering of guests for meals was a lovely feature and Arthur is a great cook (I will always remember the steak with mushroom sauce on my first night). I felt very safe staying here. A fantastic welcome to Africa for me. Highly recommended.

Had stayed before (Dec 2009 with my mother) so picked Sunrock to stay at while my brother came over for a visit. Arthur & Ina were even better than the last time I stayed. Picked us up at the airport - got us settled in for the night and had us at the airport the next morning for our trip to Jefferys Bay. Picked us up a week later & we stayed another night before the next leg of the holiday to Namibia. My brother had an early morning flight from Namibia with a late evening connecting flight to the USA. Arthur & Ina were great picking him up from the airport & letting him relax at their place rather than sitting at the airport for hours before a 18 hours flight. They even provided him with a good supper before getting him back to the airport. (He says one of the best meals he had during his visit). Their hospitality was fantastic. Feels more like home than a hotel/B&B. They go way above & beyond to make guests feel comfortable. Will definitely be back!!

We (family of four) needed accommodation in Johannesburg for our first and last nights accommodation in Johannesburg - and stayed at Sunrock for both nights.

Ina & Arthur own the guesthouse and they went out of their way to make our stay a great one, including driving us into Rosebank to see the famous craft markets.

The guesthouse is a stone's throw from Johannesburg's international airport and the free transfers to and from the airport were a nice touch.

The guesthouse is clean, well priced, and very secure - my family felt very safe whilst we were there despite Johannesburg's reputation for crime.

We are very happy to recommend Sunrock guesthouse to other travellers needing a place to lay their heads close to the airport.

Room Tip: Rooms 3 and 4 at the front of the guesthouse are very nice.

We stayed here for only one day, before coming back home. The guest house is very clean, the rooms are big and comfortable at a very good price. You can also have diner (the best african diner we had!) The owners are very very kind: we had the flight in the evening and they let us stay in the room for all the afternoon for free. The owners also collected us at the airport and trasferred us at the airport when leaving for free. It's very comfortable to airport and to see Soweto. Wonderful experience!
