I was assigned the task of coordinating our Christmas party for my company. I had never seen the place prior but my director was adamant on it and now I know why. We had our event this past Saturday and although its still November, it was worth the venue booking.
We booked into the Piazza, had a lazy lunch in sweltering heat. To be honest the heat took over and slowed things down. The crowd eventually began to swirl around each other and the kids could stretch their legs as much as they wanted. We even had sack races and egg and spoon ones. The parents participated too. I never wanted to leave the bathroom as it was a beauty in its own right. Every small nook and cranny had a theme by itself. Every corner I turned was an adventure and such marvelous surprises awaited me the more adventurous I got.
Casalinga was like a grandmother with the widest open arms to hold all her grandchildren. There was a cool thatch roof to lovingly shelter us from the heat, there was grounds to exert the boundless energy of the kids. There was service which never left us longing for anything.
As we settled, the food arrived. Every single dish was well balanced and utterly gorgeous. Starters lead straight into a dance with mains and ended with the curtsy of dessert. The Maitre D was ever so kind to put mine away for me as I was pulled away from my dessert for speeches and events.
We would have stayed forever if weather permitted. But alas we had to leave wonderland eventually.
Excellent service, excellent food, excellent venue, and on leaving Casalinga I stopped for one more thing to make the experience last. A box of Tomes chocolate. I am not a big chocolate fan but each and every single truffle is like an exciting experience by itself.
Thank you Casalinga for a wonderful memory and all the friends that were made.
