“Family loved it!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 2, 2014

We got in late, walked to Moyo's, and they put all 19 of us in a private area WAAAYYYY down in the naturally excavated cavern under the restaurant. Very exotic....Definitely a dining experience all our group will remember. Our waiter suggested for starters that we allow them to bring out platters of indigenous foods for the whole table......don't miss this! Menu was extraordinary and we had a special "first night" in South Africa. Total bill, including some wine for the 11 adults, was approx. $386, an average of about $20 per person. We thought it was a good value considering the ambience and quality of food.

“Just ok”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 24, 2014

Had dinner here on a Sunday night in July. Service was slow. I know that the standard isn't the same everywhere, but this is a large busy restaurant and it was difficult to get anyone's attention during the dinner service. Well just to get someone to take our order was an ordeal in itself. The food was not great either. Some of the dishes came out room temp. I guess they sat out in the kitchen before someone decided to bring them out to us.

“Fantastic food and reasonable prices”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 24, 2014

I had kudu and my husband had ostrich but there were non-game options if you are not so inclined. The ostrich came with a pumpkin/marshmallow/peanut side dish that was absolutely to die for and normally I don't care for pumpkin pie so the peanut flavor really made it unusual--and good. Flatbread is included with the meal and they use a jug and bowl to wash your hands at the table before you eat. If you want, you can have your face dot painted in the traditional way after the meal. Very reasonably priced for what you get.

“A first visit to Moyo”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 24, 2014

The setting is very pleasant and relaxing and we had a good lunch with friends on the open air deck. Our waiter was very attentive and friendly without being over bearing. Everyone was very impressed with their orders, while mine was just okay. Dishes to go for would be the lamb tegine and lentil curry. I was not inspired by the steak served on a pumpkin roll. It was very ordinary. I asked for a strong cappuccino and I was not disappointed. The barista knows what he is doing. Don't expect cheap prices. Two of the children ordered samoosas and I think they were certainly over priced for what arrived. The portion size was also small and so they each had a repeat order. Obviously the taste was good....
