“retail therapy for the travel-weary”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 24, 2013

a good centre with a great choice of shops and eateries - Exclusive Books is a treasure - but you will spend more than you intend. Can seem like a rabbit warren.

“The most exclusive shopping in Gauteng”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 12, 2013 via mobile

Sandton is THE place to shop. The prices are very high, but if you dont shop, its worth a visit. The centre attraction is Mandela's square. If you are intersted in lunch...you will find something there

“Short hop from airport on Gautrain”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 12, 2013

Take the train from the airport, walk 200 m to the Mandela square shopping , all types and prices, well worth a look, even to just sit with a coffee watching people at Mandela monument.

“requires a LOT of energy!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 5, 2013

Sandton is huge. It has just about every shop you can imagine and many that you wouldn't ever imagine! whatever you need, you will find there.
but, it is very hard work. it is always busy and it takes a LOT of walking to get from one side to the other and back again. and then there's still more with the new wing, the banking mall and the Square side of things.
preferably, go on your own (NOT fun shopping there with kids) and spend a good few hours there.
and don't forget to visit the Hagen Daz cafe!!!!
oh, and watch for the sidewalk sales they have a couple of times a year - some really good bargains to be had.

“An air of exclusivity shopping Centre”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 14, 2013

We arrived at Sandton shopping centre by the Gautrain from Marlboro. Which is a very clean tidy, well maintained fast train.
From the moment you walk in past the statue of Nelson Mandela there is an air of exclusivity about the shops. Looking arounf there is Mont Blanc, Browns (Jewelery), Cartier and Woolworths. Woolworths is not like the one in Australia (although there is a food section) it is more like a Myers or David Jones. There are about 3 floors of shops and seem to offer just about everything to satisfy a persons shopping needs.
There are a number of eateries in the centre which offer good food and drinks at reasonable prices.
