“fabulous home cooked Greek Food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 15, 2013

Authentic home cooked Greek food. I have passed there a couple of times late in the afternoon to get a home cooked meal to take home for my family. We tried the pastitsio, soutzoukakia, gemista, oven cooked lemon chicken and the moussaka. All were the real thing at very good value. I even spotted some avgolemono soup to take away. The deli next door has most goods a Greek kitchen may need. From excellent olive oil, olives, cheeses, wine vinegar to baklava and olive pies which are always fresh. Good Greek coffee too.

“Vibrant 'bit of Greece' home-made food in local shopping square Senderwood”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 27, 2013

Meze is not a taverna, nor is it a cafe. It has a large outside area where most of the many patrons will be Greek. The hot foods like pastitsio, soudsoukakia, gemista, kleftiko, fassolada, moussaka and other traditional foods are delicious and better than home-made. Their giro and souvlakia in pita are also extremely popular particularly amongst the youngsters. The desserts like homemade ice cream, baklava or yoghurt, honey and nuts are yummy and if you wish to finish your meal off with a greek coffee or frappe on a hotter day, they are made to perfection.
This is a delicious wholesome meal for an extremely reasonable price - particularly for a Greek venue. The staff are friendly and fairly efficient although the managing staff are quite vigilant.
They also have a smaller deli selling all sorts of greek delicacies, many of which are imported, as well as fresh bread and wonderful pies ranging from halloumopita to eliopites.
It is not a very trendy or classy place but it has clean lines, brilliant food and if you enjoy listening to lots of greek you will feel right at home.
It is only open during the day and not on a Sunday.
If you are planning on celebrating Greek easter with all the trimmings, they make the red eggs, easter bread and biscuits which are as good as Yiayia makes.
Very good value for money and if you do not like the venue, you can always take the food as takeaways
