My safari experience with Catztours in December 2012, was simply amazing! It also happened to be in a perfect South Africa summer climate with temperature that ranged between 70-80 Fahrenheit's degrees. How I discovered Catztours? About two weeks before flying to South Africa, a friend shared her most recent study trip experience in beautiful South Africa, wrapped up with a Catztours' safari, that was organized by George Mason University. So, I contacted Catztours, via e-mail, and was introduced to Henry and Annekie, who also prepared a self-guided itinerary for me, free of charge. I had never been to South Africa and did not know exactly what to expect. So, at my request, Henry met me at the airport when I arrived near midnight on that December evening. Henry helped me maneuver through the airport, accompanied me to my lodging, and provided me an overview of Johannesburg and surrounding environment, including safety tips. All this unexpected service for a very minute fee. Now the best part of my trip! The safari tour with Henry a few days later - absolutely incredible! Henry knew exactly how to find elusive animals and knew exactly what they were (animals I had never seen before and too many for me to name). Henry also knew the animals' characteristics and any special considerations including those endangered ones. Upon spotting the animals, Henry would tune in their unique/individual sound using an exclusive electronic tracking device with special speakers from his vehicle. The animals would focus on the sound and would even come closer to the vehicle so I could snap photos. Among the various species that we saw, were splendid giraffes (my favorites) that dominated the park. In some spots close to certain elevation and random white clouds, it was as if the giraffes touched the sky! We saw elephants, rhinos, zebras (also my favorites), hippos, wild cats, various picturesque birds, and much more. I managed to snap hundreds of images on this amazing day in South Africa to remember! I can hardly wait to return for another astonishing safari trip!

Toni was a pleasure to help you plan your trip even on short notice. Glad that you and your son enjoyed the safari with Henry in Pilanesberg. We use the animal sound CD so that you as a visitor can hear the different sounds that our animals make with our normal car sound system and in no way do we put it loud to attract the animals, we just know the animals behaviour very well and can estimate that they will walk over the road or determine how the road curves so that you can get as close to the animals as possible for good interaction and pictures. I wish we had an exclusive tracking device but sorry to say we don't, just imagine we will never have to look for lions and leopards again but that will take away the pleasure of enjoying the animals in their natural enviroment. Hope to see you in South Africa again
