“Great place, great service!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 22, 2012

Loved the various restaurants in the complex. Food was out of this world! Entertainment for the whole family. A MUST to do when visiting Johannesburg!! Casino, several restaurants and a beautiful entertainment park for the kiddies with rides, 4D shows.. a mini Disney World!

Room Tip: I couldn't find fault with anything in this hotel. A perfect location for the whole family or ju...

We enjoyed every moment of our stay at this hotel. The room, service and food were all divine and made for an excellent weekend away. The suites are particularly gorgeous, offering wonderful views of the city and a very spacious lounge (not to mention two lovely en-suite bathrooms with a heavenly porcelain bathtub!). I would recommend it to anyone!

Room Tip: The Executive Suites are wonderful and very romantic!

The hotel was clean and very well staffed by helpful and friendly people. The rooms were very spacious and airy. It is an ideal hotel to stay at if you have children who like the excitement of fun fairs as there is an extensive one on site. Our room was very secluded and peaceful. There was the added bonusfor people like me who adore cats, the hotel has an extremely tame and friendly cat who will think nothing of following youinto your room without invitation! (it does not complaim when it is time to throw him out) . For those who are interseted in museums the Museu of aparteit is situated next door to the hotel.

Enjoyed the old fashioned atmosphere of the hotel; the four poster bed, and the balcony...
Could not beat a Johannesburg sunset in this hotel! doors wide open to the balcony, a symphony of birdsong - what seemed like an army of birds! - drifted into the room, with me lying on the bed, sun rays bathing the me, nice cool September breeze. Nothing more I can ask for! It was incredibly relaxing; being there on business, it was quite a bonus to return to such a beautiful unfolding evening and a long day...

Room Tip: Mine was overlooking the fountains, great sunset views...

We spent 3 nights in this hotel, which was the start of our tour through South Africa. Arriving at about midnight after a delayed arrival of our flight we were quite amazed about the atmosphere of the bustling casino hall which could be watched from the balustrade connecting the hotel lifts and the rooms. Fortunately, once we were in our family suite (with stylish decor), there was no sound or other disturbance from the casino.
The front desk staff of the hotel is very helpful in organising the stay.
The hotel is opposite the Gold Reef City Theme Park, which seems to be interesting but is barely operative during rainy days (bad luck for us); the historic gold mine is definitely worth visiting.
While the hotel is not very close to central Johannesburg it appears to be a very safe option for staying in the Johannesburg area.

We stayed here for two nights in April during our tour and were very pleased.
Checking in was easy and do not be alarmed at the noise from the casino as we were because once you are in your room you cannot hear anything at all.
The room was clean ,and had everything that you would need and a great turn down service with chocolates every night.
I won in the casino and we visted the theme park that is amazing value compared to the UK at £ 8.00 Per day and with 50% off for staying in the hotel it came down to £ 4.00 , compare that to Alton Towers !!
The Back O the Moon restaurant was the best we found in the whole of South Africa with a service, food and entertainment that was excellent , so much so that we ate there both nights but also were you have breakfast served a very good meal.

I would recommend this hotel without a doubt.
