First impressions are good, despite the unimaginative name. The tables and chairs are solid wood. The kitchen is open for all to see the action. There are shelves full of an enormous selection of red wines. I ordered a Kudu steak. I expected it to be tough and gamey but it was surprisingly tender. It was a bit dry, so I used a bit a mushroom source from my wife, who had chicken schnitzel.
The presentation was not great. A good sized steak, some onion rings and chips, all looking rather lonely in a large plate. The steak really needed a source.
There was loud music playing outside. The people noise inside was such that I could barely hear my wife across the table. Some people would call this a great buzz.
At R110 for a kudu steak, this was not a bad price for an experiment. The wines were costly - I saw some reaching over R2500 - but the variety was impressive.
Worth while trying out.
