In today's South Africa of underpaid staff and over priced food Tasha's in Bedfordview stands out amoungst a crowd of mundane dining venues.
The staff, venue and food were all utterly delightful. Tea is served in cast iron Japanese pots, a nice touch.
The restaurant was packed with customers and the 5* food was ready in a mere 20 minutes.
I have eaten at real 5 star restaurants and they missed the mark completely. I had parmasan and polenta crusted chicken on a bed of fennel, goat cheese, stem broccoli and micro greens, the chicken was hot and crispy and the salad cold, not sure how they got this right but it seems that everything is made from scratch. This was recommended by our waitperson because the menu is huge and I dont eat wheat! Good choice!
I finished off with a piece of the best carrot cake I have ever had. Order a half portion of the cakes - they are far too generous with the servings.
Tashas - well done! Really... you couldnt do it better, serving quality food for unbeatable prices in an atmosphere that is just divine.

This restaurant is only open for breakfast and lunch and has a very unique menu. Super delicious! Not to be missed.

The food and service were great. The breakfasts and pasta's are my favourites! I enjoyed the vibe at Melrose Arch, and will definitely be back!

I had a late lunch and was able to sit outside. I found the food to be well prepared and presented, and the portion suited me fine. I really liked the 'mix and match' fruit juice option - they'll squeeze what you like for you, so I had carrot, pear and ginger, which was delicious.
They had a good variety on the menu, the service was friendly so I'd go back.
