Chris Green of Cashan Tours was very prompt in getting back to me when I emailed him earlier in the year regarding our three days in Johannesburg and the surrounding area. He was very pleasant to work with over the internet in coordinating what the family and I wanted to do in our limited time. Chris was waiting for us after we gathered our luggage at the OR Tambo airport in the arrival hall as he said he would. I chose the animal parks/sanctuaries outside of Johannesburg that my family would tour. I wish I had consulted Chris prior to my decision as he has much more life experience regarding these types of places. Thankfully, he did help to steer us into a safer experience at a lion park than we originally had planned. He is wise beyond his years. He gave us knowledge about wildlife that we had not expected. We have traveled extensively over the world and have had some guides only drive us around to where we want to go. Not Chris, he drove us to the animal parks, gave us a memorable tour of Jo'burg that we will never forget while providing us with historical and cultural knowledge. He knew what we needed before we needed it. He had bottled water and fruit for us to snack on each day. He even offered to pick us up from our hotel and take us to the airport one day. He rose above and beyond the call of duty! On our last day we had five hours to spend in the city of Johannesburg. He picked us up, took us on a tour of the city and when we were hungry for lunch, he found a fantastic restaurant for us to dine (we were so happy to see delicious, healthy and made to order food after six days in a game lodge setting). He then showed us an area of town that is being revitalized. He speaks highly of the city and it's future. He showed us the city from the observation floor of a tall building in the middle of the city. Great views with Chris telling us the history of the different areas of the city. At one point, my daughter was not feeling well. Chris went out of his way to make a phone call to see what medication might make her feel better. He found a pharmacy/drug store close by in which an over the counter medication could be purchased. He adjusted the tour that day to accommodate her not feeling well, all the while being very understanding. My family and I had not had time prior to our trip to read enough about Johannesburg and South Africa before arriving. He NEVER minded our ignorant questions. That is a sign of a wonderful guide. He also showed us Constitution Hill, the museum, incredible art and where important court decisions are made for the citizens of South Africa. A huge thank you to Chris for educating us in so many ways about life in South Africa. My family and I hope to go back to South Africa again someday (yes, it was that great) and I would definitely hire Chris again!

Well I am sincerely humbled and after many days, many tours, thoughts and log in issues I can finally respond to your incredibly kind review. I am a loss for words as you have been so generous.
A very wise friend advised me to ''just say 'thank you' "! You know what? He is perfectly correct!
I have been confused about how to say this but that is what I should have said at once. So thank you Jane and your wonderful family for making your trip out here. Thank you for listening and allowing me to share my country with you. Thank you for taking the time to write your review and sharing your experiences. Thank you for the patient listening to my long stories and explanations too!! Please comeback to South Africa again and explore further, there are many more places to visit as you know very well, I trust that your whole family will share it with you again.
My best wishes to you all,
