We have been regulars at Papachino's for some time. Originally in Midrand, for an occasional treat and now as there is one on Christiaan De Wet Road for more regular occasions.
Firstly, I would like to say that they have the most beautiful, clean, well designed and decorated bathrooms with a separate and large baby room. It is so difficult to find these specific amenities at most places.
I would also recommend that because of the popularity of the play area with great child minders, weekday visits are easier than weekends. Sometimes the crowds are not conducive to a peaceful play for little one's under the age of 2 years. This can make a visit stressful for me as a Mom for 3 under the age of 4. However there have been many times that the carers and even the waiters and maître'd have watched-out for little ones in distress. My mind is generally at ease but never off guard. Parking is secure and generally plentiful other than on weekends and peak play hours.
The food has always been consistent and fairly good value for money, but is not groundbreaking on the tastebuds but that is not the reason we go. And I assume, that is not their reason for being there either. Kids participate in making their own pizzas which is great and it is not too cramped. Outdoors is really where it all happens and I think most children's play facilitates have taken a feather out of Papachino's cap, who have raised the bar in terms of children's facilities.
Papachino's provides a "secure", well stocked and child-friendly restaurant experience for the entire family. Congratulations! I believe they have done this successfully and included the right partners to do this i.e. a hair salon for kids, beauty salon for mom and even a retail store for the shopaholic!
