Our family recently had a 2-day stay at Clico and found the staff to be exceptionally friendly, the service was exceptional, rooms were tastefully decorated, which is why we thought we should write this review. It was lovely to stay at a hotel where you could open a window, have your own balcony, a room with lots of natural light and beautiful alfresco eating areas. Comfortable beds with crisp bed linen, powerful shower heads and clean bedrooms. The hotel staff were all so helpful as we planned our days of what to do in Johannesburg as Australian tourists. The hotel is walking distance to restaurants (if you choose to eat out), easy access to Malls and the airport with the nearby Gautrain. The meals in the hotel were fantastic from breakfasts to dinners. Gluten free meals were no problem, with one of our family members being a celiac, and never forgotten by the staff as we had various meals at the hotel. For those interested, they did have an extensive wine list and I have to mention the divine homemade chocolates made at Clico. Clico was a wonderful find - it was a lovely change to the large chain hotel rooms, staff made us feel welcome, the rooms had character, were comfortable and had free wireless internet. We will definitely be back when next in Johannesburg.
