We suspected the standard was not four star grading and after checking with the s,a grading council this was confirmed. There grading had expired in 2010, They have been misleading guests since then! Only their guest rooms were graded and not their self catering units as stated on their website. The self catering units are of a lower standard.
This is a old converted house with out buildings which are used as self catering units
The owner does not live on the premises.
Dark and depressing common area interior - yes they have sattelite t.v. as their web page says, but it is controlled in the main lounge so each guest is expected to watch the same programme.
The breakfast is poor and nothing is fresh- The bread is stale, the flakes have lost their crispiness from being recycled, tinned tasteless mushrooms, and strange tasting sausages As the room is dimly lit - I switched on the overhead light and the owner came and switched it off . I'm all for saving electricity but then provide candles (breakfast???) if you dont wish to use electricity! Our bedroom overlooked the car park so we kept our windows closed, the room has no air-con, which we asked for either a fan or aircon as the room was stuffy. when the owner provided a roll in air-con it made such a noise you could not hear yourself think- cool air out the front -warm air out the back - talk about recycling it was of no use at all. No hairdryer - was this to save electricity too? Time to be regraded to two stars or time for a revamp - very disappointing and unsatisfactory
