Picture a monk's cell barely large enough for a double bed, a bathroom of such minimal proportion that only a committed anorexic will fit, an airconditioner that sounds like an F18 fighter jet with full afterburner and a flat-screen TV with virtually no programming, un utterly charmless concrete-jungle location. Picture all of this for R896 per night and you have the Savoy Umtata. As an added bonus you get the local hooligans doing donuts and wheelies with their souped-up screaming engines and howling tyres till 2am in the parking lot outside. This part is for free.
Advice: Stay away from the Savoy; stay away from Umtata; and (this is first prize) stay out of the Transkei. It's a trurly horrible place.
