“delicious”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 18, 2011

One of the best dining experiences we had along the garden route! the owner and his staff gave us a warm welcome and they are very attentive.
the interior missed a little coziness to mind but then again, it´s all about the food, isn´t it?
and that was definitely worth a five star rating. The tuna starter is a must have!

“WOW!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 14, 2011

The owner (Charles Black) is involved in every aspect of his restaurant. Nothing makes him happier than to chat away with diners and to recommend wines.
The food is fabulous - we had to go back to try other stuff. From perfect souffles to the most amazing dessert (five deadly sins) it was stunning.
If you are even remotely close to St Francis, go to the airpark and have an unforgettable lunch or dinner.

“Fine dining”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 14, 2011

A nice location for a fine dine evening. With some true remarkable dishes on the menu and excellent service. We were very impressed with the starters and the deserts. The main courses (salmon and filet) were a bit disappointing as these were just average.

“Outstanding”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 16, 2011

I had a dish that I will remember for a long time: a Seared Tuna starter. It was done in such a unique way and that is how the rest of the meal is served. Not traditional restaurant food, but delicious, creative experiences.

“'Emperors New Clothes' - a silly place”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 19, 2011

The place is beautifully presented and the staff are charming. But it is the sort of place that makes you feel self conscious the moment you set foot in it. Our waitress was keen to stress that they were a fine dining establishment, she mentioned this quite a few times when she was going through the menu.

We expected to be wowed. I ordered Cape Salmon and was disappointed to find that amongst one or two other things it was accompanied by an artichoke which was taken straight out of a jar ( I recognised the taste. I have a jar of artichokes at home) It was hugely disappointing. Only a few days earlier I had the most sublime Cape Salmon dish at a beach cafe in Jeffery's Bay, Kitchen Windows, I heartily recommend the place.

Pudding was a joke. everything was more or less liquidised and presented in a shot glass. There was no other choice. It's OK if a shot glass of frothy sweet tasting stuff is one of the options, but not the only option.

Next time we'll be at Chez Patric.
