This place has the Hampton Inn name on it, but the bedding (especially the pillows) and furniture are not the usual quality we find at Hampton Inn. The female staff were clothed in Navajo dress and were very friendly and welcoming. The hotel has a western/Navajo decor that is appropriate for the area. The breakfast buffet was the usual Hampton Inn fare and was good. The eating area is also a restaurant and was nicer than other Hampton Inns. The courtyard and pool areas were very pleasant. The cost for the room was about double the rate you would expect, but there are limited hotels in this area (restaurant choices are even fewer except for fast food) and they charge what the market will bear in order for us to be so close to Monument Valley. Our phone rang in the middle of the night, but there was no one there and it ruined our sleep that night. Our room was located on the ground floor in the area across from where elevators, the out-in-the-open guest laundry and the door to the pool area were all located. I've never seen an arrangement like that at any other Hampton Inn. It was constantly busy by our door.

Room Tip: Make sure to state you do not want a room near the elevators.

The main advantage of this hotel (at which I've stayed twice now) is its proximity to Monument Valley for a sunrise visit, and so much other wonderful scenery. Everything was very comfortable and the complimentary help-yourself breakfast was fine. The only thing I'd suggest is a choice of pillows - mine weren't to my liking and I didn't sleep particularly well, although it's a matter of personal preference.

We stayed at this hotel for one night after touring Monument Valley. It is a nice hotel with a friendly staff. We ate dinner on the patio and the food was very good. The breakfast buffet had a wide variety of choices. The only reason I did not give the hotel an excellent rating is because the price was almost $200 (before tax) which we thought was high. There are not many choices in and around Monument Valley so visitors do not have many options.

Upon entering the hotel, we were met by a most welcoming staff, a large common room/lobby, a trading post, and plenty of dining space. Our rooms were GREAT! The King beds were comfy, the rooms were clean and nicely decorated. Two of our three rooms were King study with sofa beds.
We had dinner at their restaurant. I had not yet tried Navajo Fry Bread (a must if you travel on the reservation), so I had the Navajo Taco. It was delicious. The rest of the menu is quite varied...something for everyone. The servings were huge, too. The free breakfast was super, too. Lots of variety and lots of food.
The pool was great, there were guest laundry machines, and the trading post sold some extremely interesting, local items.
We stayed in ten different hotels during our road trip, and I would rate this one right near the top!

I honestly had guarded expectations because I had read conflicting accounts about the quality of the venue, staff, etc... Our experience was the extreme opposite. This HAS to be the best place to stay near Monument Valley and you can bet that if we return, we will be staying here.

Buyer beware...this is NOT Hampton Inn caliber. The largest beds are lumpy double beds...NO queen sized beds here. The price is absolutely ridiculous!!! It is Kayenta,Az...$225 for one night after taxes and Navajo Nation tax.The rooms are older than most Hampton Inn rooms which means that the beds are older, too. If they had been queen sized, maybe that would have been OK.
The air conditioning was not working well nor the plumbing. We didn't get shampoo in our room either. The decor was Southwest but seriously threadbare and dated.
The lobby
is deceiving! The music and ambience...and cool (air conditioned lobby)..leads to hot, musty hallways with one working elevator. The gym which someone gave a good review ..has 2 pieces of equipment...really???
Can you tell we felt RIPPED off? well,if you stay there ,you will, too!
The only decent thing was the restaurant which was very good! BUT we waited almost an hour for caesar salad and Navajo fried bread. There was a performance during dinner of Navajo dance and drum.
We had been on a month long road trip and had stayed at many nice Hampton Inns. This was not one of them unfortunately and was twice the price!!!

Room Tip: PIck another hotel
