“Could have been better for the price”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 29, 2013

This Hampton Inn is quite old fashioned and need some updates (only 1 elevator f.e.). The carpet in the room looked old as well and was not very clean.
Bad smell in the room because of cleaning products.
A/C was noisy as well.

But the king bed was very comfortable and we had a good night sleep.
The free breakfast was good but as Hampton Inn standards, nothing great. The wifi worked properly.
Staff was courteous but that's it.

I would also mention that the pool wasn't very clean and there was no shower (or you must indicate it). Too few sunchair as well.
Hotel situation is good if visiting Monument Valley. Restaurant choice very limited in the aera. BK is not so good.

For the price paid, I expected much more and next time, I'll surely stay at the View Hotel as you don't have the 20 miles trip to see the park.

We had intended to travel to Flagstaff, AZ, however car problems caused us to stay overnight in Kayenta. We were greeted by a very friendly & helpful staff member, who helped us find a mechanic that drove out to the hotel. Beautiful lobby and furnishings in the room as well. Very good complimentary breakfast. Also enjoyed dinner in their restaurant the night before.

We stayed for a night after visiting Monument Valley because we couldn't book the view hotel. This hotel was clean and comfortable, good location for us going down to the Navajo national monument next day. The staff was also kind and breakfast was good. We carried a lot of food we wanted to keep in the fridge for the night, and that was the only thing we couldn't do at this hotel.

We read the reviews and were surprised they were either very good, or very bad. Usually suspicious when the reviews are polarized that way.We simply walked in, asked for a room, and everything after that was top notch. The receptionist was very helpful, and all staff were gracious and accommodating. The facility is well appointed, well maintained, and clean. The rooms were very nice at a good price ($149 for 2 queen size, nice bathroom.) We had no issue with the restaurant, and the staff made it clear they had a rush around 7:30 to 9:00. Keep that in mind, and you'll know what to expect. The store is not always open, but the hours are posted. We will certainly recommend to anyone.

The Hampton Inn is very clean, staff very friendly. They have a restaurant on the property that's pretty good. Try the sheepherders sandwich. They also accept pets no charge. Just an all around good spot to stay before you hit the buttes.

Nice place to stay - clean rooms, friendly staff, good breakfast, convenient to Monument Valley. A little bummed that the gift shop was only open for a couple hours in the early morning and a few hours in the evening; I couldn't get a sweatshirt.

The hotel is a beautiful and well maintained property. The pool is great! The staff were helpful. The one area in which we were not satisfied was with the restaurant. We arrived at the hotel at about 9:30 p.m. after a long day. I immediately went to the restaurant to ask for a table for our party of eight people including children (one as young as 5 years old). We were told that there would be about a 1/2 hour wait so we put our name down and continued to check in and go to our rooms. We returned at around 9:45 p.m. I asked one of the servers whether it would be easier to split our group into 2 groups of 4. She said that would make no difference. Later it became apparent that smaller groups that checked in after us were being seated. I then spoke to the man who appeared to be the Maître De who did indeed split us into 2 groups. He seated us and then shortly thereafter the other 4 were seated in an adjacent room that had remained vacant until about 10:45 p.m. The staff mentioned that this happened every night and they did not seem particularly concerned. If this happened in a city one could easily make other arrangements. However, in a small town one is limited to relying upon the hotel to provide such service. To be fair, the food arrived quickly and the table service was good. However, the inordinate time required to get a table and the blasé approach of the restaurant staff to those who were waiting did not give us a very good initial impression of being regarded as valued customers.
