“One night stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 8, 2013

We stayed here one night after visiting Monument Valley. Check-in was easy and the room was very nice and clean. We ate in the restaurant and the food was good only downside is that because the hotel is on indian land they do not serve alcohol.

Great location, clean hotel, friendly staff...cant ask for anything more. Wifi was easy and fast. Rooms were spotless and check-in and check-out were no hassle. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

We stayed at this hotel in December but I only got to write a review now based on my notes.
The hotel was very beautiful, decorated to represent Navajo nation, with a gift shop and dinner (extra charge). We had fajitas and taco - not bad. Nice front desk staff.
Waitresses were dressed in authentic clothes, however, service leaved much to be desired. There were just a few people in the dining room and it took forever to get food. We requested lemon for our water, reminded a couple of times and never got it.
Our next door neighbors ordered room service in the evening and set the tray with dirty dishes and leftovers outside the door, and we had to "enjoy" that mess throughout the entire evening and next morning, nobody bothered to pick it.
Also, some very dirty looking locals in nasty overalls were present, they might have been working there but they looked more like bums hanging around the coffee area.

The Hampton Inn at Kayenta, AZ was a pleasant surprise on my recent trip to the area to see Monument Valley. This hotel looks brand new, was very clean and comfortable, and had a great breakfast. I thought the price was very reasonable for all that you get, and I travel alot for business. I highly recommend this hotel if you are in this area of AZ.

Air Conditioning allows the room to get VERY warm before turning room into refrigerator. Front desk said all of them are like this. Rooms are small for what I expect at Hampton...for the price. Front desk staff was ok, but not very welcoming.

The staff was great. Everyone was very helpful and friendly. Location was great between Canyon de Chelly and Monuement Valley. The pool was lovely to sit beside at night and enjoy the stars. Breakfast was very good too.

We enjoyed our stay at the Kayenta Holiday Inn in mid-May, as we do almost every year - the rooms are very comfortable, and we enjoy eating in the dining area. It is very conveniently located with respect to a full-service bank and large grocery store.

Notes to the management: we very much missed the presence of Travis Terry! We always always look for him, and as our stay was in 'high season' for Monument Valley and the Grand Canyon with respect to the weather, we expected to find him in his usual spot right near the dining area. I was fortunate enough to run into him in Canyon de Chelly, where I was able to buy a newer CD, but that was sheer luck. Bring him back!

We also miss the wonderful homemade biscuits and honey-butter that the ladies used to set out at breakfast, but that's another story.

Room Tip: elevator is a bit slow, ground floor is best
