We had the best ranger ever, Edward. Thanks a lot, Edward. He was funny, told us lots of stories and is especially close to „his“ animals, particularly the old elephant bull.
We booked 2 nights in the „Warthog“ honeymoon lodge. It’s the only lodge that had electric light in the bedroom! We could also charge our batteries in our room, which is recommendable as you need a lot of batteries for the fotors. Another advantage of an overnight stay in one of the 3 lodges was that we were only 6 in our Land Rover (the Landy for people who stayed outside the park was for up to 10 guests).
Our first drive started at 3 pm, at 5 pm we stopped for tea and coffee at the farmhouse and continued until 7pm. After dinner at the lapa, the night drive ended between 9 to 10 pm.
The next day, our morning drive started at 7 am, breakfast was at 9 am. Then we headed to „Addo Elephant Park“ and joined Edward again at 3 pm for an afternoon and a night drive. Our stay ended the next morning at 10am after a morning drive and breakfast at the Lapa.
We finally counted 7 game drives! Each of them was different and great!
