My family and I stayed 1 night at The Beach Hotel at the start of our week traveling the Garden Route. The hotel itself is older and a little worn, although that is somewhat off-set by the personality of the property. The rooms themselves were looking their age but were at least reasonably clean. The majority of the staff were very helpful, particularly the bell-men and front desk stop, but the service from waitstaff in the restaurant was pretty horrible.
All-in-all The Beach Hotel was a fine place to stay for one night. If you're going to stay longer however, there are other options that will prove you a better value for your money.
I Acknowledge some of the other reviews concerns about rooms etc being tired but in my view the location, staff, food, views, and value make up for it.
The hotel is a wonderful place. We had a light lunch in the lounge of this grand hotel. The staff very very friendly and attentive. The menu presented was stylish and the meal sublime. My friends from the UK, have enjoyed their visit to PE. We shall be coming back again in February 2012.
Stayed at this hotel for one night . Chose it because of it's proximity to the airport, it really is less than 10 minutes away! Public areas were attractive and the staff was friendly. We stayed in one of the less expensive rooms and ours was very clean, nicely decorated, and in good repair. We had dinner at "Ginger" and it was good but not exceptional. Nice beach was right across the street, and a casino, shopping mall complex was right next door. Was busy and vibrant during the day but we did not like the vibe at night.
