You can get out and walk around the outside of the lion exhibits and just watch them in their own habitat. It was fabulous! There are even cabins that one can stay on the property right next to the lions.
After visiting the lions you continue your drive to the main lodge where there is a restaurant, store, and lion cub enclosure. There are numerous other animals to visit in their "walk through the canopy" part.
It was thrilling to be able to go into the exhibit to pet 10-11 month old cubs. These cubs were bigger than my wife. Two workers were in the enclosure at all times and we felt "safe" as one can feel touching and hugging these wonderful animals. It cost around $5 US to go into the exhibit. These lion cubs are fed just once per week and we were not there on the day of the feeding.
You can also go into the little lion cub exhibit and bottle feed the cubs. That was enjoyed by some in our group.
I give this place 5 stars since they are disease free and working to repopulate the white lions of Africa. The park is around 120 hectares or so and much, much smaller than Addo. However, in Addo, you cannot get this close to a white lion, much less pet. The lions are being raised to be released back into the wild. Taking all of this into consideration, this truly is a 5 star attraction. Everyone in our group had an awesome time.
We will be back in March of 2012 and will make sure this is on our agenda! Go and enjoy. Look at the pics and you can see how amazingly close you can get to these animals.
