“Tomato jam - well, I never did!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 26, 2013

We came upon this delightful spot as we arrived in Plettenberg Bay, and were immediately entranced by everything about it. The hosts, Al and Clo were warm, most welcoming wanted to do everything to make our stay memorable. We stayed a further two nights on the strength of this, and as a result, this was the highlight of our return from Port Elizabeth to Cape Town.
We had the larger of the two rooms, which was exquisitely furnished with Clo's delicate pieces and Al's hospitable inclusion of a cut-glass decanter charged with Marsalla - or something very similar!
Their breakfasts, here again, were superb; Clo's beautifully-presented food couldn't fail to get us off to a great start and we were able to spend as much time at table as we wanted, just watching the humming birds sip Al's sugar nectar whilst others of colourful plumage and song took advantage of Al's nuts or food put out just for them.
We all found areas we had in common, and thoroughly enjoyed chatting about everything and nothing, and reporting on the meals we had enjoyed the evenings before and which the pair had recommended. Nothing was too much trouble for them and we will remember them with great fondness and feel proud that we were the ones who taught Al to cuddle for the "goodbye" photograph.

Room Tip: There are only two, so whichever you have, you can't fail to be comfortable and snug.

A most friendly welcome awaits you at this lovely bed and breakfast accommodation. Although quite close to the main road into Plettenberg Bay, it is very quiet, i.e. if you don't mind listening to the large variety of birds which you can observe while enjoying an excellent breakfast on the patio surrounded by beautiful trees, shrubs and flowers. The rooms are immaculate and with lots of personal touches to make you feel "at home". Unfortunately I only stayed there one night - but next time I'm in Plettenberg, I know now where I'll definitely be staying. Good tips from the host for restaurants in town; 2 top golf courses 5 minutes away; a walk on the beach also only 5 minutes away. A wonderful place to stay and be.

We stayed at beacon lodge for 1 night. The room was a good size. The host and hostess were so welcoming and helpful. They recommended some great places to us. The breakfast in the morning was also lovely. Recommended.

Al for non dutchies and Ab for dutchies (Albert is dutch :)) and Clo (Clotilde) are a retired couple that run this 2 rooms BB. Very friendly and involved in making sure you see what matters :) Ab used to be one of the first golfsurfers in south africa and has some nice stories. The place is clean and very good price/quality wise. Nice breakfasts !

We spent two days at this lovely little B & B in Plettenburg Bay. From the outset the hosts Al & Clo could not have been more welcoming, asssisting us in our plans for dinner and the following day's activities. Being residents in the Plettenburg Bay area for 14 years they can offer a number of recommendations with regards to the areas top restaurants and activities. There are two rooms at this B & B the larger one of the two with a sea view. Both rooms are clean and comfortable, and are let at a resonable rate. In both rooms there is a stock of information leaflets and guides which are helpful when planning your time in Plettenburg Bay and other destinations in South Africa. Breakfast is set on the veranda overlooking the couples well nurtured back garden, with numerous birds singing and feeding in the garden. The breakfast selection is great, all freshly prepared that morning by the hosts. Clo's home made bread is a must!!

We stumbled across this B&B arriving late afternoon in Plett on our journey back to Cape Town after being on Safari and it was one of the first B&B's coming into Plettenberg Bay, we were in the Earls Court room and couldnt have been happier, the small patio just for our use was a bonus sitting out there with a book and a drink was fantastic, its comfortable, quiet and convenient, we had spent a day driving and this was just a little haven after being on the road most of the day. The Earsl Court room is decorated like a garden room and was spotlessly clean, comfortable bed and small en-suite shower room. I also saw the 'Room with A View' which is the only other room let in this small B&B and that has a sea views. Its located near a small sandy beach. the couple who run it are very pleasant, great hosts and are interested in you where you are from and they recomend things to do on your onward journey. At breakfast ask for the scrambled eggs they are to die for and made just right, you eat breakfast on the patio in the garden with home made jams (first time we have ever tried tomato jam), couldnt have been better. Have fun at this B&B.
