“Awesome Apartment”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 18, 2014

This place is centrally located and an easy walk to restaurants. We were amazed and impressed with the size and space for the price we paid. It had a bedroom and a kitchen/lounge with cooking facilities and Justine was friendly and helpful with restaurant suggestions. Highly Recommended!

4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 7, 2014

This guesthouse is centrally situated in Grahamstown and is situated in an old bakery. The rooms are large and spacious and tastefully refurbished with a contemporary style yet retaining its 19th century charm and character. The owners have also attempted to source period furniture for the bedrooms making each unique and invitingly different. The bedrooms upstairs are reached by a magnificent yellow wood staircase. The gigantic king size beds are themselves turn of the 20th century furniture with very comfortable mattresses and high quality linen. We appreciated the plunger coffee and quality tea station in the rooms as well as the fresh milk in the fridge. The enormous bathrooms are spacious, airy and in neutral slate and stone. The contemporary glass fronted shower area is large and the shower hot and full stream. The dining room is reached from the ground floor down attractive curved yellow wood stairs. Period items and fixtures have been faithfully kept in many parts of the double story building. There is a good view of city and the cathedral from the front rooms. Apart from the early morning traffic noise of the main street below, this is a guest house of quality and comfort and highly recommended.

Room Tip: All rooms are unique!

I stayed for a night and was very pleased with the quality of the accommodation, and the very helpful and attentive attitude shown by the staff. The "apartment" [bedroom and living room / kitchen] was spacious, well-equipped and very clean.

A slice of self-catering perfection in the heart of historic and picturesque Grahamstown. Set yourself up in this ideal accommodation and wander the streets and university town. If you are lucky Justine will prepare you a home cooked dinner and amazing continental breakfast. The loft is sunny and spacious yet still cozy and very comfortable.
Your perfect Grahamstown base.
