“Nice place to stay in Holbrook”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 30, 2011

Based on Trip Advisor reviews we selected this Travelodge for our stay when recently traveling to visit the Painted Desert and Petrified Forest. We were not disappointed. This hotel is a great value for the money -- the rooms were very comfortable and clean. The hot breakfast included items such as scrambled eggs, sausage, waffles, cereal, fruit, etc. The Staff (husband and wife) are very friendly and helpful--you can tell they want you to have an enjoyable stay.

It's a short 20-25 drive from the hotel to entrance of the Painted Desert/Petrified Forest. A must see.

I would highly recommend the Travelodge if you need a clean, reasonably priced hotel to stay in Holbrook.

If time permits while in Holbrook, check out the Wigwam Motel on Historic Route 66. Neat place to see. The rooms are actually (concrete) tee-pees (wigwams), with each having a classical car(s) parked out front. The motel lobby area has a small museum consisting of historic Route 66 memorabilia and petrified wood. Understand this motel was aired on the Oprah Winfrey show as one of her visits. However, she, at the last minute, decided to forgo sleeping in a tee-pee.

this is a very nice, clean motel at a reasonable rate with the best beds i've slept on during this trip and operated by absolutely the nicest folks i've ever dealt with! i'm coming back next year and would not consider another motel in holbrook! the only negative is the small rooms and they are working to enlarge at least some of them...

Room Tip: all you have to do at this motel is ask!

We chose the Travelodge in Holbrook because of the reviews, but were a little put off when we drove up. It is an old hotel in need of an exterior facelift, not at all the sort of place we would normally stay. However, our room was immaculate and very well appointed, even came with a refrigerator and king bed. The bed was probably the most comfortable one we had during our three week trip. Breakfast the next morning was very good, and the attention to detail and service throughout our stay was well above average. The price could not be beat - $60 including taxes. They had wifi, but we did not have a computer with us. The manager offered to get us his laptop so we could check our email!

This is a basic, no frills hotel, conveniently located off I-40. Spotlessly clean, helpful owners, quiet, good breakfast. And a great value at $56.

This hotel is rightfully rated the best hotel in Holbrook. I'm not sure I agree with some of the other reviews that say it is the best hotel they have ever stayed in, but I would certainly recommend it. Normally we tend not to stay in hotels with outside doors because they can at times be a bit sketchy, but it seems that all of the hotels in Holbrook are like this.

We called at the last minute to stay for the night. I looked it up online and it was over $80 to book through the website or anywhere online. I called and the desk manager offered to give it to me for 30% off. Great deal! When we arrived, the man at the front desk was professional and considerate and even gave us some tips about what food options would be available at that time of night since most things close early. When we got to our room, we were pleasantly surprised. It was clean and spacious, with a microwave and small refrigerator. It was certainly one of the better roadside motels we've stayed in, and the value was good relative to the room quality. It was also nice to get free wi-fi.

We didn't have breakfast, so can't comment on the quality of that. But we really thought the service went above and beyond. They even let us use their hose to wash some mud off of our car in the morning! We'd recommend staying here (especially after having driven past some of the other hotels nearby) and we'd stay here again if in the area.

Room Tip: Call the hotel directly.

As musicians we are on the road more than we're at home. A comfortable bed, good wi-fi & desk space, nice shower, and friendly staff all make our lives SO much better. This place had all of that and more. The fact that the guy on staff was willing to take the covers off the hot tub AND the pool so we could relax in either when we rolled in at 9:30 on a Monday night (& they both closed at 10) made our month. This place is not fancy but if you're looking for a quiet, comfortable, clean, friendly & functional place to rest well for the night these folks sure are doing it right.

Not a fancy hotel, but well kept and staff was very nice. Recommended places to eat and were very gracious. If you are looking for a fancy hotel, this isn't it, but it was clean and as i said before, good service.
