Heber is nothing more than a loosly strung together collection of stop-offs on I260, so you can't really expect a whole heck of a lot, but the Sawmill was better than expected and certainly not the worst of this class of hotels/motels that I've stayed in.
The room we had was on the first floor in the rear. We were able to park right in front of our door, which made unpacking/packing a much easier process.
The room was a good size, though my traveling companions found a previous guests unfinished tube of toothpaste under the bed as well as the ever-popular unidentified hair under the supposedly fresh sheets.
The beds were not bad and the a/c actually worked, though we really could've done without it. The bathroom was clean and check-in/check-out was simple.
The breakfast is cold cereal, toaster waffles, store-bought pastries and instant oatmeal. Nothing fancy but for free, what do you expect? They had a separate dining area for this self-serve breakfast, which was a nice touch.
One word of warning: This is the country, and nothing much stays open past 9PM. We had to scramble to find any place that was serving dinner at that hour so if you're looking for a real meal, eat on the early side or eat elsewhere before arriving.
