My husband and I couldn’t wait to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city for the New Year’s weekend, and Snowy Mountain Inn was the perfect place to do so. Nestled in a quiet forest covered canyon is an enchanted winter wonderland! This place was perfect for us to get a chance to relax and rejuvenate and Pat and Dick helped accommodate that for us. We stayed in cabin 5 that overlooks the entire property…WHAT a view! The cabin is a duplex one bedroom but really it’s a loft with a bed at the top, with a private Jacuzzi attached outside that is covered with a roof and surrounding with walls with some trellis making sure not to block our views, but giving us the privacy we wanted. Also within the cabin is a small oven and full size refrigerator. Perfect for those who want to save money and make their meals instead of driving to the town on Greer to eat. The kitchen is fully loaded with all the cooking utensils you may need, or if you prefer there is a bbq gas grill outside. Inside the main lodge you will find a huge selection of movies to rent, board games to play, fishing poles to fish (catch and release) at their private pond that is stocked with rainbow trout (pond in the winter is frozen so you won’t get much fishing then) sleds, toboggans and snow discs. There is a restaurant and bar located at the main lodge called Scoreboards, but they are only open Thursday – Saturday 11am- 3pm. Talk about really accommodating all our needs!
Activates are abundant surrounding Snowy Mountain Inn. There is Sunrise Ski Park that is only 20 minutes away and a sled park, but go early to avoid long lines to park. There are multiple hiking trails surrounding the grounds and behind the property is a huge canyon, so watch your step especially when hiking in the winter when it is covered in snow. The scenery is very breath taking especially in the winter.
We cannot wait to go back to Snowy Mountain Inn. Worth every penny spent here. I cannot thank Pat and Dick enough for making our stay so enjoyable. Our cabin was very clean and set up to match our needs. Hopefully we can experience a spring weekend here and enjoy their spring activities such as horseback riding, horseshoe games, and much more.
