We rented one of the Lazy Trout Cabins. We rented their Lazy Bear Cabin & we weren't dissappointed. This place is a gem!
The pictures on their website didn't do this cabin justice. It was simply stunning!
The couch & love seat in the livingroom are leather & are very, very comfrotable. The dining room table seats six & in the corner there is an additonal kid sized table & chairs that seats four. It is a two story cabin with all three of the bedrooms on the second floor. A staircase seperates the diningroom & kitchen areas from the livingroom area. There also are two full bathrooms, one on each floor. The game room is a seperate building with a futon, fooseball table, small pool table, darts & an old school arcade game that has several differant games from which to choose.
We were so busy having fun I forgot to take pictures of the bedrooms & bathrooms!
All rooms have adjustable wall heaters & the living room has a fireplace. There is a full kitchen complete with dishes, utensils & cookware. Tea, coffee & sugar are also provided. We made a full Christmas ham dinner for four with no problems. The laundry room has a washer & dryer, plenty of space to hang your winter coats, store your sleds or saucers & comes equipped with laundry soap.
Seriously all we needed to bring were our clothing, outerwear, toiletries, food & Christmas gifts. When we walked in there was even a fully decorated Christmas Tree in the dining room! There were extra blankets in each bedroom, the living room & the game room. Also the kids found a basket of toys, the cards, games & dominoes all provided by the cabins owners. There are books for both adults & kids as well as DVD's & VHS tapes in the cabin. If you don't find what you like, you can borrow DVD's from the Lazy Trout Market.
If you find yourself in need of hats, mittens or sweatshirts, they are available for purchase at the Lazy Trout Market located directly next to the Lazy Trout Motel in town. They also rent out sleds at the store, but we brought our own.
When we needed help finding our cabin, one of the owners came out & showed us the way. It wasn't hard to find, we just didn't read the map provided with the rental agreement correctly.
They also gave us directions to The Greer Cafe in town.
We were so pleased with our stay in The Lazy Trout's Lazy Bear Cabin, we definately want to return soon.
Check out time is 10:30 am & check in is at 3pm. They do request that you leave the cabin in the same clean state as you found it. It was a request we found to be both reasonable & easy to fulfill.
I highly recommend this cabin to couples wanting a romantic getaway, a family or even 2 small familes to share.
