My wife, young son and I stayed here for 2 nights in July 2007 and had a hotel room (as opposed to a condo). First the good news: The place was very new, wonderfully decorated, quiet, nice balconies, state of the art thermostats, large bathroom and larger than needed walk-in closet. The common areas were spotless, nice pool with good music playing on the radio speakers, beautiful lobby.
Now the bad news: Our room had a nice television (Sony) but it was sideways to the bed! Not exactly the most comfortable way to watch TV. Surprisingly, for a new hotel with the Wyndham name, there was an item missing that the average Super 8 includes: a hair dryer.
Sadly, service was much less than expected in a new Wyndham. First, the electronic lock on our door was malfunctioning and would often lock us out. I had to make multiple trips to the lobby to get new keys made, only to return again after one use. A work order was made and I was assured by maintenance on Monday at 12:30pm (day 2) that a manager would come and fix the lock; we checked out Tuesday at 10am and the lock had not been fixed nor even looked at except by the maintenance man. Worse than this, on our first morning, the maids knocked on the door at 9am to clean the room. I told them we would be out in 30 minutes so they could clean. We went for breakfast and a drive up the mountain and returned at 1230 to find the room uncleaned. I called the front desk and told the lady and she told me that she would check and advise. She called back 5 minutes later and told me that room service would be by at 1:30. We left for the pool at 1:00 and returned at 2:30 to find the room still dirty. I called the new clerk on-duty (Julie) who told me that the maids had left and she sent the maintenance man up to our room with a bag of towels, coffee and soap. She said that the maids came by twice (not true) and “I'm sorry sir.” Not as sorry as I was nor as sorry as Wyndham will be as I will not stay there again.
