I have played this course about 10 times in the past year. Overall course condition is good considering the amount of play this course gets. Easily the most played course in Green Valley.
To me, as long as the greens and fairways are nice, I am pretty happy. Haven always has nice greens and decent fairways. The greens roll well, with decent speed. They are not fast, but quick enough. The fairways are decent, they are cut and watered regularly, so hard thin lies in the fairway are at a minimum.
The design of the course is nice, nothing spectacular but adequate. There is a good mix of challenging par 4's, and although the par 5's are pretty straight and ordinary, most present enough of a challenge with bunkering to make you decide the best course of action off the tee instead of just rip a driver as far as you can.
Pace of play can be somewhat slow as it is situated in a retirement community, so if you want to play fast just buck up and pay for a more private, expensive course. Relax and enjoy the sun is how I feel about it.
****The one thing I really like about this course is that it is not your typical desert course. It actually has nice, mature trees. You can spray your drives a little bit as well, the course is built in a way where only the outside holes of the course are lined by desert. Nice change of pace for this area.
Bottom line, Haven is a nice course, I have always had good experiences with the staff, and it is a safe bet if you want a nice, enjoyable round at a good price.
