This is a really nice county park with the entrance about five miles north of Fountain Hills. It is staffed by a ranger and has a visitor/information center, an RV park, hiking and horseback trails and a separate mountain bike trail. Periodic ranger-guided hikes are available. For hiking on your own there are many trails ranging from easy to difficult. From most places in the park. including the road. you can enjoy terrific views of the McDowell range, Four Peaks and Superstition Mountain and its surround. It's a great place for photographers including at night because the McDowell's block the light from Scottsdale. If you like hiking it offers variety. If you just want to drive in and enjoy the scenery from the road you won't be disappointed.
