Let me start by stating I have *never* stayed at a Super 8, Motel 6 or their ilk before. My opinions are honest but perhaps shaded because of my lack of previous experience.
I chose the Super 8 because it was *only* $70+ a night & everything in Sedona was sold out (Jazz Festival weekend). The room was very spacious, clean, well-decorated and much better than I expected.
However, the walls are paper-thin. Fortunately I was exhausted otherwise the normal conversation in the room next to me would have been difficult to sleep through. When the time for morning showers rolled around, I was up with my neighbors. On the plus side, no crickets in the bedroom unlike several other hotels I stayed in during this trip.
The breakfast was a better selection than I expected and quite tasty. Doughnuts, cereal, muffins, juice, milk, etc. The staff was very friendly and helpful with directions.
The hotel provides easy access to Sedona. A word of warning however, I didn't preplan my trip very well & did not know that coming down off the mountain from Jerome after dark was literally taking my life into my hands. The road is mainly 15-20 MPH as you twist & twine your way down a couple of thousand feet of goat trails covered with asphalt. They aren't kidding about the speed limit. So, if you are coming that direction be sure to hit Cottonwood before dark!
