“Great place to stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 28, 2011

Just concluded a 4 night stay at The Pines. Modern, very clean, excellent bedding, mini-kitchen was perfect for simple meals. The pool is nice and clean and the perfect way to end your day with a nice cooling swim. Excellent value for the dollar. As a former lodging operator, I know how much work these folks put into the place....you won't be disappointed.

We had a great weekend at the Pines Motel. The room was nice, updated and had a fridge and microwave. It is quiet, very clean and we really liked the property. Very close to Old Town Cottonwood. Randalls is walking distance, great breakfast food. I hope we get to meet the fabulous owners of the motel next time we visit. And I hope to visit again here soon.

Comfortable spacious room with refrig/microwave-2 queen beds--looked brand new--very clean----good selection on TV
Would loved to have stayed several nights but we were flying out the next day. If we ever get back, we will stay there again. Being about a block off the main road and on a slight hill.----it was vey quiet, restful---but close enough to Walmart, etc.
Cottonwood was a more reasonable place to stay than Sedona.---less traffic.--more restful

Room Tip: Quiet, 1 block off main road

This Pines was a nice surprise...decent rate but not run down or dirty. Our room was clean, bed was comfortable, and the front desk staff was super friendly. Close to the main road and restaurants. The front desk clerk recommended Ming House, which was excellent Chinese, huge portions and the buffet looked great too....just a short walk, which you will need!! We got an excellent cup of coffee at Java Joes behind the hotel, it's a car wash with a little cafe inside.

The Pines motel staff was friendly, and accommodated our early arrival. Our room was very comfortable, and big enough for up to three people to stretch out. The kitchenette amenities were in good working order, and clean. The motel is located within walking distance of a major grocery store, that is open early, and closes late, and within short driving distance of a WalMart. In terms of local sightseeing, the motel is less than an hour away from Sedona, AZ, with its beautiful scenic rock formations, and close to Jerome, a historic mining town.

very nice, clean, family run motel. close to everything in Cottonwood. we stayed in a mini-suite with our friends, which worked out great economically. We made one breakfast in the room, and used their outdoor barbeque and picnic tables one evening;a beautiful, warm, full moon night.
Great jumping off location for day trips to Sedona, Jerome and Prescott.
would definately stay there again!

Room Tip: liked the ground floor

I stayed at the Pines Motel in October 2010 in a one bedroom with a queen sized bed and enjoyed it very much. The rooms have been refurbished with new furniture and the bed was very, very, comfortable. The motel is not right on the main road (although it is close) which means you don't hear all the traffic passing by all night long. It made for a quiet night which is what I like. The room was a bit on the small side but for me that wasn't a drawback. It may be for others though. At any rate, I was pleasantly surprised when I found the place and enjoyed it so much that I stayed an additional two nights as a base for seeing everything else in the surrounding area (Sedona, Jerome, etc). On previous visits to Cottonwood, I've stayed at the Super 8 and Motel 6 but in my opinion, the Pines is much better.
