This was the greatest dinner my family has experienced. I do not want to give away too much of the night so that you are surprised and in awe when you go. The wait staff actually enjoys what they are doing and do it very well. Since our table was in the west corner so when the time was right the drapes were fully opened and we watched an unbelievable sunset over the Arizona mountain range.
With your water they offer you a fruit selection for your water that includes lemon, lime, orange and pineapple. We started with a four cheese platter ($30) that had samples of British blue cheese, French and Italian along with white honey from Hawaii and another exotic honey. The combination of honey and blue cheese was outstanding. The plate was also garnished with a small bunch of champagne grapes and other items! There is also a bread serving that followed the cheese platter which was outstanding.
For the main course, there were two orders of the Potpourri of Butter Basted Lobster, Guaymas Shrimp & Diver Scallops ($47), one Dry Aged Bone-In Rib Eye Steak with “Kai Steak Sauce” ($54) and one Grilled Tenderloin of Tribal Buffalo ($48). All were cooked perfectly and were wonderful. The only negative thing I could say was that the lobster was a little tough.
They also have an extensive wine list. We opted for the 2010 Mondavi Cabernet Sauvignon ($60) which is about $30 retail so it was a good value. We ordered a second bottle and were given the option of a 2007 or 2011. I opted for the 2007 and it was better than the 2010. For dessert we shared a chocolate soufflé ($18) with coffee ($7) and tea ($7). The coffee is either made fresh at table side with your choice of filtered or French pressed. The tea, a combination of raspberry and tea, was also brewed at tableside. They also bring you some complimentary chocolate to finish off your night.
Total tab was $540 which included tax and a 25% gratuity. If you have the cabbage to spend add this to your bucket list and enjoy one of the finest dining experiences around. Mr. Ocho is not one to be easily impressed but this was a magical night.
