“Good Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 22, 2008

We had booked at another hotel chain and they overbooked so they moved us to this hotel and lucky for us! It is an all suite hotel so we had a separate bedroom and sitting area with micro and fridge. Heated outdoor pool and hottub. Bicycles available to borrow. Within walking distance to good shopping and good restaurants. Hotel was clean and front desk staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast in the morning is the standard juice, coffee, cereals, eggs and waffles nothing special but available and well presented. This is about a 20-30 minute drive south of the airport and 15 minutes or so from Angels Spring Training Field. I would stay again if in the area.

This hotel is pretty much as close to perfect as you could ask for!

First of all, the location is awsome. Across the street from Chandler Fashion plaza on one side, and several strip malls on the other side. In other words, there are about 20 restaurants either right next door or at maximum a few minutes walk away, including olive garden, ruby's diner, the elephant bar, a few italian restaurants, japanese restaurants, cheesecake factory, you name it, it's there.

The hotel is excellent value.
All the rooms are full suites, with a cute kitchenette area, desks, a bathroom which is accessible through both the bedroom and the living room, so you dont have to disturb others if you get up in the night.

The breakfast included is amazing for a "continental". There are even waffle makers and batter so you can make fresh waffles! Also cereal, bagels, fruit, yogurt, hard boiled eggs.

There are computers with internet available.

And it is pet friendly!!
The grounds are also nice, nice pool and hot tub and palm trees.

It is not a far drive from downtown phoenix and the airport, and is a great location if you plan to see sights along the apache trail or visit south mountain park.

  • Liked — the breakfast, the location, and the pet friendly policy, and the spacious suites!
  • Disliked — nothing!

This place was totally fine. We are two NY chicks that had to go to Chandler for a Bridal Shower. It was well maintained (we even saw the pool inspector taking samples after a major dust storm). Very clean, the maid was there every morning. They leave a daily newspaper at your door and there is a coffee stand right in the hallway and the breakfast consisted of bagels, danishes, cereal , hard-boiled eggs and waffles) all included in the price of the room. Vending machine for drinks and snacks and an ice machine. The pool is small but sufficient and its a pretty good location. Near shopping and restaurants. Nothing fancy about the hotel but I would stay again esp for the price.

The Windmill Inn in Chandler is a great place to stay in the southern part of the Phoenix metro area, whether you are traveling for work or on vacation. In our case, we were traveling as a family with two young kids and the kids really enjoyed the pool and the reasonably extensive breakfast served in the lobby each morning. The rooms were a decent size (at least large enough for the kids to be the main area and my wife and I to be in the bedroom). There is WiFi and a business center where you can check your email for free for those so inclined. The location is also very good for those who would like to eat out without battling the Phoenix traffic. The Chandler Fashion Center mall is located right across the street and it has a couple dozen restaurants surrounding it of every shape and size. All in all, a very good find for $140 or so per night in Phoenix!

This is the worst place I have ever stayed. Rooms are described as "suites" but are small. The beds are HORRIBLE we slept on the floor one night. It is old and crummy!!! Do not stay here!!!

Stayed here while in the Phoenix area because of how much I liked the Windmill Inn in Tucson, having just stayed there before coming to Phoenix... The Windmill in Chandler is okay, but it's definitely one or two rating stars below the Windmill in Tucson.

The layout and designs are similar, but the Windmill Tucson appears newer and brighter than the one in Chandler... The Windmill Chandler had a mild musty or moldy smell in some areas too, including my room, and is a little less well lit in some areas of the hotel, including the room and bathroom.. I'd imagine the musty smell would only bother someone who's sensitive to mold though... The clean towels in the bathroom had a somewhat sour smell also..

I used the pool on a 110 degree day, and it would have been better if the pool water was a little bit cooler than warm bath water... The pool didn't cool you off at all because of how warm the water was... Other reviewers have already mentioned the major positive points, including the extremely close proximity of the very nice mall, many restaurants, movie theater, Starbucks, Target, Best Buy, etc... The room was clean, and the hotel staff was helpful and pleasant.

We have stayed here twice. Good location - next to a large mall and restaurants. Decent breakfast with make your own waffles. Rooms have a good setup with two TVs and bathroom accessible from bedroom & living room. An additional sink outside of the bathroom is useful when you have four people.

Beds and pillows are average.

Free use of two computers and printer is a nice amenity not always found. Staff both times was very friendly.

Plenty of parking available.

Will definitely stay here again
