My spouse wanted to eat here since it had high ratings in the local paper. She was especially keen to try the Bulgogi (marinated Korean BBQ beef) and Dolsot BibimBap (rice with vegetables and BBQ beef) since she makes them at home and wanted to try authentic Korean cooking.
The restaurant is in an old part of Chandler. The building is nothing to look at and not a place my spouse would choose just driving by. You can smell their wonderful cooking out in the parking lot and it gets even better when you go inside. We went there for lunch and the place was pretty busy.
Service was prompt and we ordered one of each of the dishes to share. We were served six bowls of salads/appetizers: potatoes in a gravy, sliced apples, shredded radishes, bean sprouts, kimchi and seaweed. They were interesting to try, but we didn’t want to get full early. The Dolsot BibimBap comes out in a hot stone bowl with Bulgogi, vegetables and dried seaweed nicely arranged in the bowl like pie slices. We stirred everything together. Some of the rice gets crispy and stuck to the bowl, so you have to scrape to get those little gems. We really enjoyed the rice dish and the Bulgogi was excellent--good marinade and very thinly sliced. There was enough food that we couldn’t quite finish everything. It was worth the drive and we will definitely eat here again.
