“mediocre at best”

Radisson Hotel Phoenix / Chandler

I pricelined this stay, and feel like I got ripped off. The hotel was "ok" at best. The hotel has focused it attention in the lobby and adjacent restaurant. The rooms were pretty worn. The hotel advertised sleep number beds, what we got were old, tired beds and mattresses that are in need of renovation. The pool area was disgusting. A party had obviously happened the night before and nobody had been out to clean up. there were empty beer bottles everywhere, pistachio nuts, trash, cigarette butts. really bad.
Given a choice, I will not stay here again.

Stayed here for 3 days on a biz trip to Chandler. rate was good ... under $100.

Good- Right off of route 10 and very convenient to local businesses. Marie Callendar restaurant right next doofr, tons of good eating places and shipping right on Chandler boulevard. Ate at a good Italian restaurant @ 1 mile away called Vabene. Little on the $$$ side but excellent food. Many gas stations around and the requisite Starbucks etc. Only walking distance one , albeit , you could go out on the chandler strip was Marie callendars.

Room was clean, Bed was a very comfortable King bed. nice desk, bureau, TV stand combination. i was on the highway side albeit, did not hear traffic. parking was easy. Bathroom was updated. Nice gas fireplace in lobby. Wifi worked easily and was strong throughout the stay.

Not so good- hotel inside looks a bit weary, although the room was very much updated. elevator is very slow. Key did not work 2 out of 3 times i used it. nice front desk but nothing special. good and basic.

neutral - they do have an outside pool but the weather was too cool to use it. Buffet breakfast smelled good but did not have time for it on this trip.

We got a bargain through Hotwire for the weekend at $45 a night, but I wonder if it's a bargain when you request a non-smoking room and are placed in a smoking room, as well as having an elevator that doesn't work and being placed on the fourth floor. My wife noticed some trash/empty water bottles under the bathroom sink... from a previous guest I assume. Clerk was not knowledgable of the area, and somewhat sassy when I reminded him that we should have been placed in a non-smoking room. Lots of construction waste in the stairwells due to changing of the light fixtures... somewhat hazardous for small kids. Might stay again at the same right, but not higher.

“Housekeeping ruined our stay”

Radisson Hotel Phoenix / Chandler

Aug 8, 2006

Pros: Quiet rooms. The location of the hotel is prime. Right off the highway. Our room faced the highway but did not hear a thing. Nice view facing mountains. The resturant was great, the first day becasue we didnt have to pay for it. After that it was $10 a person. (I dont normally spend over $30 for breakfast, so we passed)

Cons: Housekeeping. Everyday we had to contact the front desk about something dealing with housekeeping. We had towels with brown stuff on them. Not sure what it was but it was all folded up nice and neatly for us to use....Not too happy about that. The room was really never cleaned. Coffee maker, no coffee. Not enough towels. Not enough wash clothes. No towels for the pool. Ice maker did not work on floor 3 and 4, so we had to hike down to floor 2 everytime we wanted some. You pretty much name it. The pool was so dirty. Didnt see anyone ever clean it. Cigarette butts floating in pool. They have room service but dont have the items stated on menu. Sounds like most of the items were purchased from the local Circle K. Every time we asked for something, they told us the last one was sold..Not something that you would expect for nearly $10 an item.
