I hiked the Go John Trail yesterday with a friend. It was remote serene and beautiful. The cactus glows at dusk. The trail is ready as moderate but there are some rocky and hilly paths where the trail looks more like a creek bed than a trail. Mark the mountain ranger who watches over is helpful and delightfully cute. I would bring more than 20 oz of water. Hiking boots will protect you from mistep and rolling an ankle. A moderately fit person taking some pics can do this 6 mile trail in about 2.5 hours. O suggest navigating the trail clear clockwise. The desert "meadow" at the end is a great victory lap. Good luck and have a blast.
