Sorry, but we didn't have a very pleasant experience here. We stayed as part of a group for my husband's work conference, and they booked our stay. I called ahead to see if there would be a fridge in our room, as we were staying 5 nights. I was told no, but that we could rent one for $20/day. (what?) So we had to bring an ice chest and refill it every day. (we've stayed at a $70/night hotel that had a full kitchenette including dishwasher and stove...why does a resort room not include a fridge or microwave?? All we had was a tiny coffeepot with one mug) Upon arrival, we discovered that the "room service" menus in our room were not accurate...only about 4 of the items were actually available, so we went to the restaurant's all-you-can-eat lunch buffet for $18/person. (I can't even eat 18 dollars' worth of food for lunch!) This was a disappointment, considering the same 4 choices were available on the menu if we did not order the buffet. We found that the resort had a coffee bar, only to discover that it was not open because there were not enough people staying at the resort. Also, the only other restaurant at the resort was closed for renovations. I realize this is not the resort's fault, but we felt forced to pay the high buffet prices since that was the only available restaurant and we apparently weren't allowed to keep food in our rooms unless we rented a fridge!
On top of this, we were charged incorrectly for our room - we had numerous "holds" placed on our debit card, only to receive several different explanations for this from different staff members. We were told that the holds would be released when we checked out, but they were not...we were charged the room rates over and above what was being held. So essentially if the amounts being held had cleared...we would have been charged almost double what we actually owed. Then when we checked out, we were not charged for one of the nights...we informed the staff, but they insisted they were correct. As a result, my husband's company got charged for one night we were supposed to pay for. When this was discovered, the resort charged it to our card....without informing us ahead of time. We were not happy about this, considering we tried to settle it when we checked out. I have never stayed any place that does billing this way...it made things frustrating. It would have been much easier if we could have just paid our total bill when we checked in, like most places!!
The one thing we really did like at the resort was the fitness center. It was great. But I'm sorry, that is not enough to make me want to stay there ever again. Had this whole fiasco been avoided, we probably would have had a nice stay. We definitely felt that we were taken advantage of.
