I'm here for a conference, have to stay for 5 nights. This is only my second night here. But I can'y wait to write a review. The first night I got here, I got a room which looked not very new, just like an average maybe 2-3 star hotel. The lock primary lock of the room did not work, and the extra lock was missing the hook thing. Breifly speaking, I had no locks on my door. I changed into a new room. The second room look a lot nicer, and obviously renovated not long ago. While I was happy being upgraded into the new room, I was waken up by a constant water noice from the airconditioner at 4AM. It's not fixable, therefore, I moved again. The third room I got looked nice, too, but smelled like a cigarette. The front desk told me there's a ice machine maing a somky smell which is unplugged after they checked it (how scary, is there gonna be a fire?). However, I did not think that's the case cause I still woke up in the cigarette smell after spraying the entire room. I'm really tired of moving, but on the other hand, I really don't want to compromise my stay. What should I do?
I have to mention that although there are so many problems with the room, the service has been pretty good so far.

What a great vacation. We could not have had better service from this Resort. What a class act.

I stayed here for a conference June 2008, and was utterly overwhelmed by this place. The staff couldent possible be more helpful and friendly, the entire resort was spotless and well maintained. Our villa was really huge, very comfortable, clean and the nearby pool was gorgous. The food was very nice and we had a great variety throughout our stay. I just can't say enough good things about this place- i just hope to return to enjoy again.

This was my first time staying in a "villa" so the size compared to a hotel room was luxurious! These Villas are really cute and spacious which was perfect since we had two small children with us. It was around 1200 square feet with two bathrooms and a garden tub in the master room bath. One downside was pool by the Villas was really small and there wasn’t a lot of hotel staff attending to the pool. There is another pool located on the main resort but it is quite a ways from the villas. I think since the Villas are far from the main resort, the service is not the best, but it is not bad. Housekeeping does a good job and even does dishes since you have a small kitchen with full size appliances. You also have a utility closet with a full size washer and dryer. The DVD player was a plus and we didn’t have to spend extra money for pay per view movies for the kids. Our villa was a bit of a walk to the pool but it’s a pretty walk. I love Carefree AZ so Im a little bias but the surroundings are breathtaking. You should not stay here if you do not have a car because there is nothing around off the resort except for beautiful residential homes. If you have a car it is not a far from grocery stores, starbucks etc. but not near any malls or boutique shops. The spa onsite was nice, but really pricey. I had one of the best massages there but it cost more than we paid for the room per night! I would stay here again and would recommended it to other families. Since we go to AZ often to visit family, relax, and hide from the hustle and bustle this really works for us.
