“Boulders is a great place to stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 29, 2013

While the Boulders is outside of town it is a great place to relax in the Phoenix area. Rooms are spread out all over the resort, so be prepared to walk or call for a cart to pick you up. As a diamond member I was given an upgraded room at the back of the resort that was very nice. The business center was in the middle of a remodel, so it is difficult to access a printer at the resort.

Although you are far from Phoenix this is a quiet n peaceful place to stay. The rooms are individual casitas that are spacious. Note they do $30 resort fee for wifi etc so when you book your room make sure you get a package that includes this. The food is quite good and the spa has exercise classes which are quite good. My husband enjoyed the golf while I enjoyed the many running trails in the area. Overall a very enjoyable place to stay.

Look no further for a terrific spot for a family get together. We were in hacienda 502 - it was huge, gorgeous and in a perfect location (under 5 minute walk to the main building/pool, across from golf and tennis). The master BR/bath were magazine worthy. We had 3 full bedrooms and baths with oodles of living space and a great shady patio with amazing views. This is a house you would love to own - and everything was immaculate and beautifully serviced each day. The staff is warm - its all low-key but perfect in every way. The views are magnificent and the landscaping is beautiful. We took the desert jeep tour so we learned a lot about the varieties of cacti.

My husband has a work meeting at this place and we decided to make it into a long weekend. It was amazing. I think this had to have been the most beautiful resort/property I've stayed at in the USA. What I loved was how sympathetic to the natural landscape the resort was (except of course, the golf course...). The way the buildings were built to blend in with the desert was brilliant - it was not a flashy, slick property. The wildlife and plants were beautiful and memorable.

Btw - the spa was exceptional. And the fitness center was terrific as well. I am looking forward to coming back!

First off, the service is exceptional and I was impressed with every employee that I had interaction with. They recognized you and called you by name after the first introduction and treated you like family. The rooms were awesome (some mentioned that the restrooms were dated, which is true, but the rest made that a non-issue for me). Views were phenomenal, food was exceptional, internet was horrible. The spa should also have more people at the welcome desk, when I was there, people signed in, but had no idea where to go or what to do and could easily have missed their appointments had they not checked back at the desk. As a very frequent traveler to Hilton properties, I expected some level of recognition. I did receive my 1,000 bonus points, but no second amenity (not even the free glass of wine mentioned by other Diamond guests), no room upgrade, and the "welcome" call that we receive as Diamond members came on day 3 of my stay, when I was departing on day 4. I really expected much more from a Waldorf for those of us that spend 100+ nights per year with Hilton...I was obviously mistaken..

Room Tip: Ask to be close to the lodge, although no matter where your room is, the bell staff is very responsi...

Dear hiltongirl357,

Thank you so much for your kind words and lovely review of the service provided by The Boulders’ Team Members.

Acknowledging and properly greeting our guests is a most important part of the service we extend, and one, we believe to be most significant to the overall success of our “guest’s experience”. It was with great sadness and regret to learned we neglected to provide you with a Diamond welcome packet upon your arrival and to personally speak with you to offer our assistance in a timely manner. On behalf of the entire Boulders Team please accept our sincere apologies for these shortcomings and know how truly sorry we are for letting you down.

We are most grateful you took the time to share your valuable feedback and for bringing our attention to this lapse in service. We look forward to welcoming your return and demonstrate the improvement you have inspired.

...stayed at The Boulders this past weekend for a getaway staycation - haven't been there in several years, and once again, The Boulders is hands down my favorite place to stay in the PHX Area - service impeccable, understated luxury, quiet, unpretentious - as far as the resort fee goes, nearly every place in PHX that calls itself a "resort" charges this fee (usually around 20 bucks a day, for which you get internet access and a copy of the USA Today aka the multi-colored fish wrap) - at least at The Boulders, you get valet parking and bellmen that come get your bags and/or take you to wherever you want to go on the property at a moment's notice - that's WAY more than you get at other properties!

I will definitely stay here again!

My best friend and I spent 1week at this wonderful resort. top of the line for gorgeous scenery, wonderful food and accommodations. if you enjoy outdoor adventures this is the resort for you. We tried horseback riding hot air ballooning hiking and swimming in the heated pool. Spa was outstanding. Would return to this hotel in a heartbeat.

Room Tip: Stay on second floor better views of surrounding area
