I could have given the CTP a higher rating but comparing it to the other US hotels on our itinerary 3 seemed reasonable. Given its captive audience it does a great job. Clean, tidy, comfortable and with a good restaurant for dinner & breakfast. Oh - and it has a great view from the River view rooms as well.

The motel is a classic motel - park outside, unload, relax. Disappointed to find two queen beds rather than a king - they were a little too snug for the two of us to share one - we are too used to a 6ft bed! The room had everything you could need and was big enough to spread the luggage out as well. Bathroom was ok - nothing special.

The restaurant is a must - great food and very good prices and the Trading Post itself is a hoot - every conceivable type of Native American merchandise possible.

One point to note - don't expect a cell phone signal. The Navajo & Hopi have their own service - Cellular One - and certainly BT didn't havie a roaming contract!

I was in Cameron with 8 friends on my way to Utah after visiting the Grand Canyon. I think this was the best place for a one-night stop. Other than the Trading post, there is not much in Cameron, different accomodations may be problematic in the summer without reservation. We reserved online and checked in at 9 pm. Be advised that the main store (including restaurant and registration area) closes at 10 pm. For 99 dollars each (weekend rate), we got 3 queen-queen rooms as requested, which were spacious, clean, quiet, comfortable, and with typical unconventional furniture. Looks like the staff is really taking care of every single detail in the property, everything looks like brand new. The restaurant was very good, we paid like a standard diner but we had much more food, the staff was very friendly. The gift shop is a must-see: if you like it, you may spend hours inside: some items are really fancy and hard to find elsewhere. Just make sure you don't spend too much money: my friends spent like 300 $ overall that day! We would come back for sure.

Have always wanted to check out this hotel and when we unexpectedly changed our travel plans (didn't like Santa Fe or the motel we had booked) I thought of Cameron. I am so happy I did. Had a junior suite which was larger than any suite I have stayed in. Furnishings were totally southwestern with a cabin flair and very nice. Wet bar area with fridge but no microwave. Living/dining area was large and well-furnished. Bedroom was extremely large and very comfortable. Bathroom was tiled southwestern and very accomodating. Entire property was beautiful and very quiet and peaceful. Spent three days exploring area and relaxing. Hope to return some day.

“Nice Place to Stay”

The motel is very nice -- clean and spacious with a nice balcony. The furniture is neat and appears to have been handmade. We would definitely stay there again. Enjoyed the lovely courtyard. Definite reservations about the restaurant. We had two fairly poor meals there. It would be nice if they could provide more healthful options on the menu. For dinner my husband had the Navajo taco -- which he liked; I had the Navajo stew -- which I would pass on.

What a wonderful place to stay, away from the crowds at the Canyon, still with easy access to the Canyon. The Cameron Trading Post Motel is a beautiful place with exceptionally clean, southwest decor rooms. The gift shop is excellent, they have a very nice restaurant and a small store for provisions for your trip. My wife and I took our fourteen-year-old grandson to the Grand Canyon this year and we spent two nights at the motel. It was very enjoyable. We highly recommend it.
