“surprised”

Grand Vista

Oct 16, 2007

I stayed here with my boyfriend and i was very surprised to find the staff friendly and i also was very happy to find that they were willing to let us see the room before we rented it for the weekend ,most hotels in the area don't offer that and had been to other hotels and they weren't so forthcoming with letting us view the room prior to renting it.
So the hotel is old and they don't have all the stuff the fancier hotels have but since me and my boyfriend where going to be on the river all day we just wanted a room we could relax in and feel safe in and thats what i found here.I have never been in a hotel where it has been as quite as it was here, you could swear you were the only ones on the floor and I have to say thats nice. I would stay here again and the price was right for the area.

“Non-smokers Not Wanted”

Grand Vista

Jun 18, 2007

When we first scouted the hotel, we were told we might be able to get a full-sized refridgerator in our room, which would help with storing my insulin and icepacks for my diabetes gear. A week after we moved in, the manager told us that only smokers and people with pets were permitted to have a full-sized refridgerator.

Stayed here Saterday March 17 2007. Yes it was terrible. the sheets and towels were grey as if they had not been washed for ages. there were holes in the garpet that were patched with different colors. They charge you 69.00 + tax and in the papers its says WITH complementery coffee. Now that is a not true. You have to buy a little stinking cup for 50 cent out of a machine. The people were never at the desk and were VERY rude when you got a hold of them. This is not a place were you want to stay. It is a shame that it is still in buissines.

Okay, this is not a four-star hotel as far as furnishings by any means.
It's a Super-8 hotel with modest rooms and accomodations.
The rooms are larger than what you might get across the river at Laughlin.
Most of the rooms also have refrigerators and microwaves, unlike the casino hotels. It just depends what you're looking for.

The hotel sits on top of a hill and overlooks the Colorado River, which is a nice ammenity. We just relocated to BHC from Tucson Arizona and have been staying here for two months while we transition. I find the staff friendly and cordial. The staff has mentioned that they don't "put up" with any kind of illicit and intrusive activity.

I don't believe the rooms are worth the price for someone to pay upwards of $70.00 per night. Weekly rates are better. I do think the hotel needs a little work in their furnishings. The cleaniness could be a tad tighter. But I believe they fit a niche in the hotel market for this area. The pool always seems clean.

Best Western hotel down the street has smaller rooms. The rooms are cleaner and more modern, and also more expensive. For a short stay, like a weekend, it wouldn't be bad. But, because Best Western sits at street level, I have experienced some "undesirable" vibes from people who walk around the area.

So, that's why we're at the Grand Vista. Because it sits on top of a hill, and, unless someone has business up there, they usually wouldn't want to walk up the hill. And, the neighborhood behind the Grand Vista has hills with nice homes that we enjoy walking in the morning.
The hotel also has a well-lighted parking lot and cameras.

I've noticed that the Grand Vista is a favorite for very small construction crews who are here temporarily to work on a project. I haven't experienced any intrusive activity by them. They usually work hard all day long and come back to the hotel to relax, before getting up early to do it all over again. They're always up early, so they go to bed early. They have been very quiet.

Grand Vista is kind of your down-home, Super-8 Hotel/Motel. It just depends what you're looking for. There's plenty of parking if you're hauling your boat or sea-doo.

We stayed at the Grand Vista for 2 months last winter. We were very happy with our room and the staff. I wouldn't hesitate one bit to recommend it to any one. And the price was right!
