Description: Cafe Roka emphasizes quality food using local ingredients when possible, attractively presented with friendly and attentive service in a welcoming environment. During our 22 years in business we have noted the changing eating preferences of the public, and that has driven us to find new ways to prepare and serve dishes that are interesting, savory, healthy, local, and affordable. Owner/Chef Rod Kass combines elements of Vegetarian, California and Italian cuisines, forging a uniquely personal style of cooking that is pleasing to the eye as well satisfying to the palate. Full dinner, light appetizers, a glass of wine or desserts, we welcome you. We feature a full bar with jazz on Friday nights. Reservations (at the bar also) suggested to get the time and date you would like. We also are an integral part of the Bisbee community and the region, supporting local groups whenever we can.

“Lovely gem in a mining town”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 14, 2013

Really a wonderful dining experience. The restaurant is intimate without being loud. You can hear the other diners but not every word of their conversation. (a few restaurants in Philly could take a note!)
The meal was delicious. I had the fish special, delicate sea bass with just the perfect blend of veggies and light sauce, fabulous. My husband opted for the spicy penne, he loved it as it was flavorful but not overly garlic. Both dishes were spot on for freshness, flavor and value.
Our waiter was Daryl. Certainly a Bisbee ambassador. He was interesting and efficient, getting our dishes to us while the food was still hot and offering, when asked, comments about the town, beer and wine. We appreciated his humor.
In addition, the owner helped us out. Earlier in the day as we attempted to check into our hotel we were locked out. One of the shopkeepers told us the Inn owner worked at Cafe Roka, we went down and the owner was contacted by the chef owner of Cafe Roka. Very helpful and appreciated.
So, all these rave reviews, why only 4 stars? The bread is subpar, white rolls that were cold and not the right kind of chewy. The reservation system is a pain, you leave a message and they call you back. When I call on a Monday for reservations on Thursday, no one calls back because they are only opened Thursday-Sun. Even if you not open check the messages and let people know if they have a reservation. We are tourists, I like to make plans.
Otherwise, this restaurant is not to be missed in the delightful town of Bisbee

“great location, bar and food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 7, 2013

I have visited Bisbeen on average 3 times per year for the past 4 years. Each time I make a point of visiting Cafe Roka for at least one dinner. The food and ambience are wonderful. The chef keeps and delivers a delightful menu with variety for every palette.

“Yummy!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 5, 2013

My husband and I just had our 33rd anniversary, and decided to celebrate it at Cafe Roka. Great decision! We both had their mouth-watering Australian rack of lamb with garlic mashed potatoes and sauteed vegetables. Wow! This is the best lamb anywhere. Included in our meal was a delicious potato and corn soup, a fresh seasonal salad with homemade dressing, and a palate-cleanser of lemon sorbet. Darryl went out of his way to make our evening special; he brought us a selection of 4 different wines to sample before we made our selection (no pressure to buy a whole bottle), and even came back to top off our glasses! For our anniversary, we received a free dessert tray - a generous portion of 4 desserts to taste. We weren't expecting this at all. Thank you, Cafe Roka, and especially Darryll, for this memorable dinner. We'll be giving our daughter and her husband a gift certificate to Cafe Roka for their next birthday celebration.

We're glad you had such a good time for your anniversary. And thanks for singling out Darrell for his service. All our waiters try to make special occasions, special. We often offer a selection of desserts to mark the event. Thanks for taking the time to write a review.

“Don't miss this!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 1, 2013

We were celebrating our 40th anniversary and wanted to have a nice dinner. Cafe Roka was really amazing from start to finish. Very gourmet. The prices were great for what you got. I've had Italian food in San Francisco that I didn't like as well.
