“No Rest for the Weary”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed March 31, 2014

Never again. Rude staff. No internet signal in the bedroom. When I went downstairs to use their computer, it was frozen and the desk clerk seemed to think that turning off the monitor would reset it. There was another computer. He never did say why we couldn't use that one. He just said to use to one that was frozen. The other one must have been broken. Very strange hotel. Will bypass it next time and stay elsewhere.

I had booked 2 rooms both with queen beds, we got double beds. as far as clean goes , it was a hit and miss cleaning. the toilet did not work properly, it was noisy with the i10 traffic and the breakfast was awful. watery eggs, biscuits were hard, and I could what the so called bacon was. the staff was nice and polite but we were told they were all booked for ground floor and it was very obvious that there were a lot of rooms available. this place is still in the cheap motel category.

The room was fine, although there was a lot of road noise so you should account for that if you are a light sleeper.

Breakfast, however, was noteworthy: just like mom used to make...assuming of course that she was grumpy, inattentive, and had forgotten to shop for groceries. We arrived with an hour and a half of breakfast hours left, and almost everything was low or out. There was plenty of gravy but no biscuits. The eggs and bacon was just about gone. The yogurt was gone. There was a waffle maker but no batter (the explanation for that was that "someone had opened it before the timer went off and it messed up the thermostat and it wouldn't reset before breakfast was over" so she wasn't going to out any batter...I'm sorry but those machines aren't that complicated and I'm pretty sure that you could easily reset it within a few minutes, let alone two hours). There were packets of oatmeal and tea bags but no hot water. Why? Because somebody stole her hot water pot last week. If true, that's unfortunate, but I'm sure Best Western would be happy to replace it or reimburse a replacement and that shouldn't wait over a week. Heck, you could simply repurpose one of the three coffee carafes that are already sitting there.

It seems that this was not an isolated incident, judging from other reviews. Everyone has a difficult day every now and then and I can certainly empathize with that but when someone is grumpy toward customers, doesn't seem to take responsibility for doing a good job, let's problems drag out well beyond when they should, and does those things often, there is a problem. If management hasn't addressed this with her, they should, and if they already have, she needs to be reassigned to another part of the motel to make room or someone who is able or willing to provide a pleasant breakfast experience. I've stayed in hundreds of hotels and there seem to be lots of people who can do this job well, or at least with a smile and concern for their guests.

This hotel is very clean, the staff is friendly, the food is good and the price is reasonable. However, the train noise is loud and the windows are of inferior quality leading to you hearing everything outside your room. Also, we experienced a minor problem with door locks.

A three day weekend trip with friends to see Kartchner Caverns, Fort Bowie, the Chiricahua Mountains & Colossal Cave. Everyone that I dealt with at Best Western, from phone reservation to check out was very helpful. We stayed in a suite with 3 queen beds/2 baths that worked perfectly for us!

Overall, a good, fair deal for the price. Clean, neat and in good repair. Fitness center was average, but adequate. The only "fly in the ointment" was the marginal (at best) breakfast and the surly lady who was preparing the food and complaining about the guests. The remainder of the staff was AOK. We would stay there again and hope the Breakfast lady will be replaced or retrained.

Checked in to this Best Western in Benson, Az after driving muck of the day and doing the touristy thing in Tombstone. I had made reservations a couple months in advance and had requested poolside rooms. We arrived late afternoon/early evening and on check-in was told no poolside rooms were available. (Iknow when you reserve a room they say they will try to fill your requests and apparently they couldn't this night. We were given rooms on the East side of the hotel. This put the rooms about 200-300 feet from the I-10 Freeway and an exit ramp from the freeway. The rooms were clean and comfortable, the staff very nice and informative about local restaurnts and area attractions. Luckily we only stayed one night in these rooms because most of the night we heard truck after truck speeding down the freeway or on the exit ramp. I think I would stay here in the future hoping that I didn't get rooms 102-112 or 202-212. If you stay here try to get rooms on the west side of the complex or pool area rooms. The hotel put out a pretty fair breakfast, we've had better but we've had worse.

Room Tip: Try to get rooms on the west side or pool area
