We recently stayed in Whittier for a few nights and had a chance to try most of the restaurants (there are only a few here). This one had decent food, but certainly nothing special. There is not a lot of choice in Whittier, so if you are craving Chinese this is your one option.
We just missed the lunch buffet and ordered off the menu just past lunch time. The lunch buffet seems to be a lot better deal, since ordering off the menu was very expensive. We had 3 entrees, 1 appetizer, and 1 beer, and it was over $80 with the tip. We could order similar food at home for around $35. I know Alaska is expensive, but this was much more so than other places we visited.
The menu is large with many different types of items available, and they do have some local items on the menu too, such as Salmon dishes. We ordered one of those among other things, and it was decent.
The server was very nice, and they did have a big menu selection, so we were not disappointed with the food. Just nothing special (I have been to China several times and like to eat at the China towns in many big cities around the world so this place just does not compare food wise to what you can get elsewhere, but for Whittier, it is a good choice if you are in the mood for Chinese).
Another positive is that it has a large dining room so you can get a table here, unlike the seafood place next door that is really small and you might be standing when you get your food if the tables are full there. Thanks for reading.
