My husband and I stayed here for 1 night in May. We got in here from Seward around 8.45 pm, and were greeted by a post it on the door. Carol had left us a note that she was out, running errands, and would check on us later. The note gave us directions to the BnB entrance, and the door code. We had booked the Arctic rose room, but the note read another room. We found the entrance, and frantically spent 10 mins looking for the room. We finally found it, in the suite area. The room just had a bed, with no sitting room, nor an attached bathroom. We had booked the Arctic rose room, specifically for the attached bathroom. At this point in time, we were really frustrated, as we had no idea why we didnt get the room we wanted, without any notice, etc (we had called 1 week before the trip to reconfirm our booking). We didn't see or hear a single soul at the BnB. The place was freezing and we finally found a heater in the room closet. We went out for a walk, and trust me, this was the highlight of the stay! The view outside was mindblowing. We watched the sun setting, and took a lot of pics. We finally decided to call Carol around 10 pm, so we could ask abt the room, breakfast, etc. She was apparently asleep (this sort of left us surprised, since she didnt stop by or call at all). We asked her abt the room, and she said that the Arctic rose room was not yet ready (not sure why we weren't informed abt this a week earlier?!) She said we could "assume" the bathroom was a private one (since there was no one staying in the room next to ours). Also, there was no way to lock our room if we went out, since the other guests had the key (why is there just 1 key?????!). All this really threw us off! We needed to leave by 8 am the next morning, but there was no hot breakfast. We had cereal, and cake :( and were happy to be on our way to Denali! The place by itself was amazing, but we ended up feeling like intruders, all due to the lack of communication/information from the host.
